Beau, that is beyond cool. I'm assuming he's already had the three surgeries and stuff--and won't have to have any more unless he hits issues in his 20s, right?

Appreciate it Lolly. Yes he had the three surgeries by the time he was 3 yrs. The miracle about Eli is his undersized left ventricle is actually pumping blood. They had not ever seen that before down here at Texas Children's in Houston. So the prognosis for him is better than expected although there really isn't much more than 25 years of data to go by. He could live until he is 50 we just don't know. He may go anytime. He has gained weight and grown quite normally. He holds O2 sat's in the mid to low 90's. Dr Mott has been amazed with him throughout his 10 years. Looking at him you would never know the difference from other kids with the exception he gets tired quicker. Every day with him is a true blessing from God as far as I'm concerned. Thanks again for the kind words.

Didn't find religion. I found a relationship with the Lord about 3 years ago. Life has been complete hell ever since lol. Personal conviction hits hard when it hits ya.

advances in medicine are staggering, there may be a procedure or cure in the next tens years. i have a client that is regrowing organs with transplants in mind. texas children's has a great rep.

One of my best friends has been down in Houston at MD Anderson's proton beam radiation center (with her 13 month-old only son) for the past three months. I had no idea that's where you were. Antonio Mott is a legend.
Eli hasn't gotten blue in 2-3 years even when he has been running around all day playing. This is because they closed off something in his heart that was left in the third surgery by Dr. Fraser. No mistake there by him but they just tried it with a heart cath that lasted about 8 hours it seemed lol and it worked.
Antonio Mott is the most kind, knowledgeable pediatric cardiologist I have ever met in my life down here and believe me I now know my share of them. Your knowledge of this whole thing is comforting Lolly to say the least. Unfortunately we lost Dr Mott to some hospital in Pennsylvania. He got some offer up there he just could not refuse he said. He left August 7th '09. He will be sorely missed. My wife started crying when he told us the news. Heck I almost did too lol. Eli saw Dr. Cannon today. He told my wife he will be monitoring Eli for arrythmias closely. He also told us that Antonio left him with his top 5 percentile of favorite patients and that was quite comforting to know for sure. I will tell my wife about your friend and her baby and assure you she will be in our family's prayers. If you would like to pm me her and her child's name we will pray for them by name.

I had no idea Mott left. He did his fellowship in Pennsylvania, didn't he? Dr. Cannon is really great too--everyone in that group is pretty kickass. Sapire and Rivenes are awesome as well.

That's it Pennsylvania. St. Jude's perhaps? Cannot remember for sure. He is heading up the entire pediatric cardiology department wherever it is.
