According to an ABC News feature story, nearly eight in 10 people polled said, lack of respect and courtesy is a serious national problem,
and six in 10 said the problem is getting worse.'
Symptoms cited are talking loudly on cell phones in public;
driving obnoxiously;
leaving people on hold;
cursing and littering.
The remaining respondents were quoted as saying,
"Here's a quarter, go call someone who gives a shit."
