Brutal way to miss out on a playoff yesterday for Johnson.It would have been nuts if he sunk that putt on 18 and thought he won it.At first I was thinking he got screwed but when they showed the place he hit from and ground the club it was pretty obvious it was sand and sand usually indicates a bunker.His caddy has to be on top of that shit.Theres a rules official following every group so its not that hard to ask for a ruling.Pretty dumb way to cost yourself a major.

Tiger has finished top 30 in all the majors.For as bad as he looks right now some players would kill for those results.It might take two years but he will win another major and then it will be back to dominance for him.

I saw the tape of where he hit too, and it in no way resembled a bunker. Looked more like a place the crowd had walked down and maybe they had spread some sand for maintenance purposes.

I heard the guy interviewed and he said that the thought of that being a bunker or even considered sand NEVER crossed his mind. Not once. He said he just never considered it. They asked why he didn't get a ruling and he repeated that he never considered it to be a bunker, just looked like a place the crowd had walked down.

I would venture to say, if that hadn't been the PGA, and had been the British or US Open, they wouldn't have given a ruling like that. Or had a place that could trick a person like that. I think they went out of their way to show an example of how a true "PGA" type player has to follow the rules to the letter.

But kudos to how well he took it. He didn't act pissed about it. In fact he even joked that he is glad now that he missed the putt.

He was in the last group.Him and Watney who blew up and shot an 80 something.The two guys who ended up in the playoff were on the practice tee hitting balls.

It would have been an all timer if he hit that putt to "win" it and celebrates thinking he won a major.So embarrassing.I think he would have handled it a lot worse if they told him on the 18th green he didnt win it.

oh shit, that picture makes it obvious. it looks just like a bunker that hasn't been maintained. I guess during the tournament with the crowd standing around it wasn't as obvious as it is there. yeah, they got it right.
