I was a little shocked by it. The whole speech seemed to be an attempt to downplay the gulf spill and remind people that there are bigger problems.

When he started off by reminding everyone that we were in a war and in a recession that seemed to me to be making a lame attempt to downplay the gulf problem.

Then when he compared fixing this problem to our efforts in World War II or going to the moon, I thought he had temporarily lost his mind.

But, as I posted earlier, when he said that this problem just helps illustrate why we need to develop wind and solar energy so that we don't need to drill in the gulf anymore, I knew he had been drinking.

There were parts of the speech that I thought were good, and informative and sending the right message. But the underlying theme that this is just one more problem along the way of life and there will be other problems in the future, and we can pray about it......

I just thought the whole idea last night was to minimize the problem and get people off track.

i have a horrible feeling that flumpenstein is too close to the truth here

i love obama, but he has some major blind spots
i'm a bit disappointed in his performance thus far
of course, the fact that he started in such dire circumstances did not help
but ..........

On web forums such as these the posts are usually sequential.Now that you've learned that look at where my post fell in line with the previous.In this case that would be 8's stating the media builds you up and then rips you down.That is true for sure but my comment in this instance was basically a "so what".While all of you are celebrating the gulf being ruined as something to be pinned on Obama the plain fact remains no matter what the GOP has no one who can win the next presidential election against him.Thats not hubris its fact.If you would like we can go over the candidates the GOP is going to put up and have a good laugh.
