which player...
#1

...is the (baseball) Hall of Famer? One of the players made it on the first ballot, the other not at all.

Player 1 - 1783 Games, 1071 Runs, 2304 Hits, 207 HR, 1085 RBI, .318 BA

Player 2 - 2089 Games, 1249 Runs, 2452 Hits, 382 HR, 1451 RBI, .298 BA

Also, one of these players won 6 gold gloves and was a 10-time all-star, and the other was a league MVP and an 8 time all-star.

is this a mattingly(sp) thread?

If it were a Mattingly thread, I'd have said "one of the players has zero championship rings."

I don't know how Kirby gets in.
If Rice hangs on and hits 18 more HRS; he's a lock.

or betters his BA by .002.

I can't see how Puckett gets in on the FIRST BALLOT and Rice can't even get a sniff. Did Puckett ever dominate an era?

He gets credit for getting the Twins into and winning the WS. He spent his entire career in with one small market team. Big fish in a small pond and stuff.

The whole Hall is a joke. Fucking writers always have an agenda.

I know what you're thinking now. You think we're all gay, don't you? Think we're all just a bunch of deviant lifestyle-living same-sex having motherfuckers, am I right?

After much though, and without reading any of the comments below the first post:

I would pick Player #2:

Although Player 1 is better at getting hits, Player 2 is better at HR and RBI's which are more important. Plus he kept that better percentage through more games.
