Let's talk about panic attacks
#1

Last night I had a panic attack. At least I think that's what it was. It was the 2nd one this week. Does this happen to anyone else? It's like for no reason I just kinda get really frustrated and aggrivated, then loose it. My mind is thinking of like, 10 things at once, and I just freak and yell at everyone to leave me alone. Sad Then I have to go sit down by myself, and I usually start crying and can't breath good. All over pretty much nothing.

Should I go to a Dr.? Or is this kinda normal? I've taken paxil before, but I really don't want to be on medication all the time again. Maybe I just need to take a valium or something when I stress out like that. It sucks.

I do the same shit. I can usually count myself down when I have one. It usually happens when I'm around a lot of people. Your's sounds more serious than mine, I've never got overly emotional, just extemely frustrated.

I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours

I have had two. They hit in an instant and all of a sudden you are uncomfortable, can't breath good, feel like your heart is racing. The first one hit me in an airport before I got on a plane. I thought I was going to die, but I contained it. And was better after the plane landed.

The second one, I was driving. I had to pull over. I called an ambulance and went to get checked out. I was fine. They gave me some pills to take, but I have never taken one. They also put me on a very mild blood pressure medicine. I think that is what has helped me the most.

If you are pregnant, maybe your blood pressure is getting up.

My cousin (female) gets them alot. She is taking some medicine for them, but she gets them all of the time. She had to drive from Missouri to Texas for Thanksgiving and said that she quit smoking and drinking anything for about 3 days before the trip because she was afraid she would have one driving.

They are MUCh more common than you know. G$D had a thread on this about six months ago. About the same time I had my first one.

I've never had one. I believe beer and weed can be thanked for that.

Mrs. What? has the same shit happen to her sometimes. I'd love to blame it on the pregnancy winding down, but she's been like that before she was knocked up. I usually have a few beers and ignore her until she settles down. I don't know if that helps her at all though

I was out hunting with a guy one time that had one. We had to drive him about 2 hours to a hospital from the middle of no where. He thought he was having a heart attack. Praying and shit while we drove. I had too many beers that morning to drive, so my buddy that was less drunk drove my pickup. We were fucking flying, only hitting the ground about every 20 yards on the way.

But he was fine, too. His wife came and got him and we got more beer before heading back to the lease. It was actually pretty good, because we needed to make a beer run anyway, and this was much faster.

Trust me, you don't want to be around.

I went because I didn't know what was wrong. I thought I was about to have a stroke or something. I just knew that if I didn't go I would never take the time to go myself. I felt much better afterward knowing nothing was wrong.

I've definitely had similiar experiences. Wahoo calls them my "grown-up temper tantrums" because I will get amazingly upset and stressed out over seemingly minor stuff at times.

I use to have those alot of times a couple months ago. I would have a heavy feeling in my chest and wouldnt be able to breath. I went to the doctor and found out that i was feeling this way because I had a heart condition. *sigh*

I used to get these. I went to the emergency room 4 different time over them on the more vicious attacks. I wound up getting stress tests / heart echos onloy to find there was nothing wrong with my heart. I would have all the symptoms of a heart attack short of the numbness on the left arm. There was no pain though. Just the panic of it all made it worse. Heavy chest feeling , very faint , cold sweat & it felt like all my blood was failing to pump and falling to the bottom of my legs. The doctor finally ascertained I was having anxiety (panic) attacks and asked if I was under a lot of stress. I just couldn't see it though as normally I don't take shit too seriously and could give a fuck about most things aside from my family. Anyway, he prescribed me a medicine called Buspar. I took it for about a month and during that time I did not have one. I quit taking the shit because I didn't like the way it made me feel and I have not had another one since although I have felt like one was coming on a time or two. I would strongly recommend that you see a doctor. Anxiety attacks can be quite serious and actually do physical damage to you if you don't address them. The doctor told me with the severity of mine that in some cases damage has actually been don to the heart and bring on real heart attacks or strokes. Thank God it didn't happen in my case.
