Anyhow after that you'll be able to do a lot of things (cd/dvd burning)...it's quite a pack full of fun (you'll be able to do a lot more than only audio cd's). great interfaces.

You can, Nero is a great piece of software it provides you with an easy "newcomer" interface but you can switch as well to the advanced mode. Personally this is one of my preferred burning software.

Another great piece of software for cd-ripping is Audiograbber.

audiograbber is free and works flawlessly, can connects to free-cddb servers to get songs names and can work in conjuction with LAME to encode directly in mp3 format (lame is a high quality mp3 codec who's free as well).
