i find jeanne-claude more compelling
they work as a team, tho
she is more articulate vocally but commits nothing to paper
he speaks very little and does all the drawing

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.

And the #1 Best reason to go see the Gates.......

So you can tell your friends and family that you witnessed one of the dumbest excuses for art and one of the biggest wastes of money imaginable.

Actually, the tv footage I saw yesterday made it look better than I imagined it would be. I was more curious about what happens to the metal used to make them when they are taken down and how do they remove the plates and plug up the anchor holes that had to be drilled into the concrete?

i was super sceptical, too, but all the questions were answered
the "gates" were pvc
only the bases were steel: bars, approx 3" x 9" x 2.6' with two "feet" approx 6 "
!
!
_____________
_ _ __

all the material is being recycled, it is all accounted for
and there was absolutely no drilling or anchoring
every question and more went thru my mind and i complained until i found out the truth of the project

i think you would enjoy the experience

Damn....
Everyone took all of my answers. Except for "because it might make you feel something you never thought you'd feel and it might just make you think about our place in the world in a different light."
But that's my stock answer for everything.

Can I get points anyhow? I hate being left out.
