Why does the server go apes ?
I dunno but am checking.
Possible causes : there's a gang of 2k members from a hughe hacking site spamming the shit outa VB forums atm....
There's some worms crawling around trying to crack/hack post boards ...
The server can have some hardware Issues ....

in what sense does he goes mad ? high memory usage / processor usage / ... maybe he's running out of hard disk room or some heavy logging somewhere that you forgot to unset after a few tests you made.
however in a more common sense a computer who runs 24/7 should never be stopped (you never know if he'll restart again and work as before).

I KNow about 24/7..
The bitch hangs on CPU outtake ... The memory is cool and we have like 90% free diskspace so the memory and swap is not the problem ...
I just swapped some modules to a newer ones t osee if I get it to behave better ...
But we have been high on CPU load a while ... 5-11% .....

I just updated Kjournald and syslogd daemons and now cpu usage is down to 0 - 1.3%
Lets see what happens later when ppl are on...
