I'm not sure. I think it keeps your pee spray from getting on the back of the toilet seat. Or helps you to aim better.
I know I would like nothing better than to pee on a big sheet of plastic and then pick it up with my bare hands and stand it in the corner of the bathroom.

I can't wait to get them installed in all of our bathrooms and have some people over so they can see my dried urine stains on the plastic shield.

I find that guy's purple toilet cover more ridiculous than the pee shield.

I never liked those fuzzy toilet covers. They are too thick and sometimes the lid won't stay up, so you have to kind of get real close and hold one knee againt them to hold them up while you pee. Very awkward.
