Every July, we get hundreds of tornado watches, some touch down, but most don't hit anything because there is so much prairie. In 1999, one hit a campground and killed 11 people. Don't get me wrong, I don't actually want to be in one. It just feels....anticlimactic when they warn you and nothing happens.

Three summers ago, on the anniversary of the 1999 tornado that killed 11, I was driving in the same vicinity. (well, Jimmy was driving). The sky looked BAD. People started pulling over and I was trying not to freak out. Then, the radio starts blasting and they call the tornado warning for exactly where we are. I start screaming to Jimmy to pull over and he thinks driving out of it is best. When those things come up, it's so damn dark, you can't tell what the fuck you are driving into. It's definitely scary.
