Hmm.. The southern part of Louisiana is about latitude 32 degrees. but if you go to 22 degrees, then you are near south FLorida or Cuba or Cancun.

Not sure about the 22 degrees clue.

Well, Bonaparte is the one that sold the Louisiana Purchase to the US. So that fits. Now, what part of the Louisiana purchase is part of the US but in isolation?

Well magnolias are the state flower of Louisiana and Mississippi. But can't find anything about what part of the state they are mostly found.

Kingdom and nation?

Quote:During the period of Spanish rule, several thousand French-speaking refugees from the region of Acadia (now Nova Scotia, Canada) made their way to Louisiana following British expulsion; settling largely in the southwestern Louisiana region now called Acadiana. The Acadian refugees were welcomed by the Spanish, and descendants came to be called Cajuns.

Canary Islanders, called Isleños, migrated to Louisiana under the Spanish crown between 1778 and 1783.

In 1800, France's Napoleon Bonaparte acquired Louisiana from Spain in the Treaty of San Ildefonso, an arrangement kept secret for some two years.

So I am assuming that this narrows it down to the "Arcadia" area.
