There are pros and cons both ways:
one if you go unexpectedly.. you never know when the last time you'll see your relatives. Imagine leaving one day and not telling your child/children bye and thats your day..
if you know when you are going.. more than likely the last months/weeks/days will be terrible. It sucks but you come to grips with it. I weigh it back and forth..

That's why I chose not to know - I already live like I might die later today, because I can't stand the thought of my kids not knowing how I feel.

I can't imagine KNOWING I was going to croak and still having to go through the motions...I'd either go buck wild doing everything I never did and try to forget reality, or off myself.
