I'd go for the dell, but I got no real basis for that desicion, other then it looks kewler.

I bought a pioneer head unit for the car that reads mp3 cd. my computer here plays'um and my surround system at home plays mp3 cds....so I carry around a cd notebook with 500 and some odd albums, all in mp3....

i think with the cool looking blue jacket the dell rocks...plus its $100 cheaper than the Ipod. What's holding me back is that Apple makes good products that last. Spend the extra dough and get a quality product or take my chances with the cheaper Dell?

I use a Dell PC and 19" LCD monitor at work, the monitor went out after 6 months maybe...but they sent me another one, no questions asked. I think Dell is top notch in PC world, but Apple does make a better product.

I love my Ipod/mini Mac combo. I've never played with the Dell I pod so, I have nothing to base that opinion on (as usual).

Ipod has probably the best interface hands down of any mp3 player but its more expensive. Dell hardly manufactures anything. Most everything they use is a renamed product that someone else sells. They back up all of it with their warranty and service support which is one of the best. If you have the money, I"d probably recommend the Ipod, but only if you are going to the apply music store to buy their music. If you won't, then you may just want to go with the dell and make sure you have a 2 or 3 year mail in warranty on it.

I work with a dude that picked up an HP i-pod at Target. His is just as sweet as my apple i-pod. I got a deal on mine because it was bundled with the mini-mac. If I had to purchase one. I'd take a good look at all of the vendors. VitE's opinion. There's no reason to waste money that could be better spent on Pabst and speeding tickets.

You can get skins for iPods, so I wouldn't go for the dell based on the color (cost maybe, but not color).
