I'm totally shocked you missed the point.

The reason the Pats' offense is so good right now is BECAUSE there are no "proven" players. Indy got shut down in part because Darelle Revis totally eliminated Reggie Wayne and Peyton didn't have many other options. Revis can shut down whatever Pats receiver he wants to and it won't matter because Brady will just go somewhere else. Six or 7 players are capable of having 100 yard receiving games.


Indy is (was?) terrible but Peyton is still Peyton, and he comes to play against the Pats. Pittsburgh's and Baltimore's offenses can both score enough points on the Pats to win, Baltimore's defense has just given the Pats more trouble in the past.

No I got the point but your theory of unknown players not choking and staying unknown during the playoffs is unproven.I'll go with my gut that julian edelman sucks and its a whole different ball game playing in january as opposed to playing in november.Teams need to get to brady and its over.

That being said I'm picking the Pats over the jets.Winner of the Balt\Pitt game beats the Pats.

Yea I'm torn on who I want to win.As seen in this very thread I knew the Patriots were fraudulent and getting to Brady was all you had to do to beat them so I'm not as jacked up by the Jets win.

Pittsburgh I don't mind.I like teams that play defense so whoever wins the AFC I'm ok with.I do not want Chicago going to the superbowl.It will be just like the last Chicago superbowl where its over by halftime.The only upside to that would be watching Cutler whine his ass off on the sidelines when either the Jets or Steelers knock him on his ass repeatedly.I think the Steelers beat the Pack and the Bears.The best matchup game wise is the Packers vs the jets.

Jets LB Bart Scott rips Tom Brady’s performance in playoff games


Given all the Jets talked leading up to today’s showdown with the Patriots, it’s no surprise they had plenty to say after their 28-21 win. Bart Scott held court with reporters for about 20 minutes and had time to take shots at a number of Patriots during that time. But one thing stood out about Scott’s comments: the Jets weren’t intimidated facing Tom Brady in a home playoff game.

Once unbeatable in the postseason, Brady has come back to earth recently. Including today, he is 0-3 in his last three playoff games.

“This was the quarterback that couldn’t get touched,” Scott said. “(The media) talk all about how great he’s playing, but what Rex (Ryan) pulled out for us was his last three playoff games – what his record was and what his rating was then. He had a 66 quarterback rating in his last four or five playoff games and you guys didn’t believe that. You guys didn’t look deep enough into the notes.”

Taking Scott’s advice, here is a closer look at Brady’s stats in his last three playoff games:

1/16/11 — 28-21 loss to Jets: 29-45, 299 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception, 89.0 rating
1/10/10 — 33-14 loss to Ravens: 23-42, 154 yards, 2 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 49.1 rating
2/3/08 — 17-14 loss to Giants: 29-48, 266 yards, 1 touchdown, 0 interceptions, 82.5 rating

A common refrain in the Jets locker room was the belief that if they put pressure on Brady the Patriots would crumble. The Jets got to Brady for five sacks and the Pats looked nothing like the team that ran off an eight-game winning streak to close the regular season.

“That’s what we leaned on,” Scott said. “We leaned on the fact that we knew we had more playoff experience than that team. We know that when the pressure was on, those young guys wouldn’t be able to perform at a high level. We’ve been there done that and we let you guys build (Brady) up, let him read his things and that’s why he can go kick rocks.”

Scott said he saw a difference in Brady as the game progressed.

“He started looking for the rush when there was no rush,” Scott said. “He thought after a certain amount of time somebody was coming, he was fidgeting… Most quarterbacks don’t like getting hit. They get hit and they turn into a totally different person.”

I dunno man.. he has a pretty good record in playoff games. I got in an argument this weekend with a friend of mine whom is a raven fan. I told the guy Flacco is an over rated game manager. He seems to think Flacco is good.

I see Terry Bradshaw with the same playoff record as Brady yet I never hear of him mentioned in the top 5 QB conversation.Bradshaw also has one more superbowl win than Brady and his team was never caught cheating.

Flacco and Matt Ryan are the two most overrated QB's in the league.

We will ride the Reid train until he quits us ironically.The owner is not a philly guy and honestly has no clue about football so he's kind of happy with where the organization is at which from afar I can't blame anyone for thinking things are good here though locals don't feel that way.I've been anti reid for a while but I'm starting to realize Mcnabb had way more to do with the eagles faults than I realized.Reid had to cover up his weaknesses and ended up looking like shit because of it.The way he flipped the switch to Vick and the team looked nuts for a few weeks really shook people up since almost everyone would have been ok with a 7-9 team this year.Reid will be here for the rest of vicks tenure and then will leave us for a west coast team, probably the team that gets moved into that new stadium they are going to build in LA.

i know bird points to "cheating" as the reason, but I think it's coaching. they haven't done anything since charlie weis and romeo crennel left their coordinator positions. belichick was totally outcoached by sexy rexy, totally dominated. that some of the players were saying what the jets did was completely unexpected tells me that belichick has too much on his plate, and needs a legit coordinator(s) to take some responsibilities. which yes, means he probably is overrated at this point.


i still don't think star players would have made a huge difference in that particular game. the pats had no idea what to do.


and yeah, g8tor, it has to be rings. this season, despite low expectations that turned into a 14-2 record, is a total deflating bust. they've got 16-0 and blown it, and 14-2 and blown it. no matter how many games they win next regular season (and it will be at least 12) it's totally meaningless until they win (and play well in) a playoff game...which they haven't done since the game which made them 17-0. it'll be a year+ until this one can be erased.

Its not time to talk about firing Belichek.The team did trade its best offensive player besides the QB mid season.He lost the mental battle to Rex.Benching Welker was a mistake.The pats were too tight.

He and Brady will get a pass in New England until Brady retires.Its not a football town so as long as they stay relevant and brady keeps those flowing locks shiny the town won't give a shit.Most of them didnt even know they had a team until 2007.

Also its just totally a coincidence that Crennel, Weis and McDaniels have been utter failures as head coaches since the cheating scandal.
