that was very clever
I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk. A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind. A need to return to genuine practice, right effort. Need to push on the great doubt. Need for the spirit. Hang on to the clear light.

The government run post office is so terrible that when I put an envelope in the mail it takes 3 whole days to get to the west coast. What a joke!

I guess not.Explain to me how paying less for a system that leads to longer life expectancies is stupid? This crap about how just because its government run means its automatically a failure is a joke considering all the services they do run that work well and are taken for granted.

because two of the most major government programs I can think of, social security and public pensions, are a huge fucking mess.

Post office, Train system, Air traffic control, EPA, ATF\FBI.Thats 5 off the top of my head that make your life better every day.Sure nothing is perfect and the two you mentioned are a mess but the net gain on government run health care is lower costs and higher life expectancy. Its been proven by countries with similar economies right on our border.Shit will change and maybe people will be inconvenienced but what we do now is unsustainable and doesnt even guarantee health care to children. What kind of great country are we when thats the case?Half of the resistance is the black helicopter, they're coming for our guns contingent.

the post office isn't efficiently/properly run just because you can mail a letter across the country in a few days.
they're struggling to continue to send mailmen to my house 6 days a week to deliver my junkmail.

It never was intended to be a money making enterprise. It was founded to help stimulate commerce which it has.You take it for granted.Health care is about doing whats right.I'm not ok with 46 million being uninsured because #1 its immoral that that is the case in the most powerful country in the world and #2 we end up paying for their healthcare anyway and over paying to boot. There is a reason why these billion dollar insurance companies are scared to death of universal health care and it isnt because they are worried about your well being.

Medicare - yes people do get health care albeit not without delay, massive red tape, and a level of fraud that would make any mafia boss cry with pride.
Social Security - there is a reason it is referred to as social insecurity. It is on the verge of bankruptcy and our progeny most likely will not receive any benefit for their fiscal support of the program.
Welfare - beside the fact that the welfare state has destroyed the nuclear family and relegated almost an entire population of minority citizens to government subsistence, it has been yet again another example of massive fraud. Not to mention that welfare was to end poverty as we know it. We have spent more than a $9 Trillion since its inception and poverty still runs rampant.
Education - in the last 10 years, the education budget has increased almost 300% over the previous 2 decades combined. This has resulted in little to no improvement in Americaâs level of education position compared to other democracies of the world. You have to ask what are we getting for our money?

how is it going to be cheaper to provide more coverage to more people without cutting out a whole bunch of stuff?
also, I don't want the government anywhere near questions/considerations regarding end-of-life care.
