By diehard I mean paying attention the last 3 games.
I would say the last 10 games I've been paying attention.

Boston fans are funny to me.You sit through 80 years of losing and think some how you're better fans than anyone else. You're just easily entertained.

It's not a reflection of Boston fans, it's a reflection of me. Fuck, I followed (and posted about) the freakin Celtics last year, who were dreadful. I've paid my dues watching the Bruins for years.

I just think it's ridiculous for a bunch of jackasses to all of a sudden come out of the woodwork talking about how great their team is when they don't even know who half the players are.

I caught alot of shit from Saints fan this year. I asked them..

how many years do we have to sell out to put a banner up?

For those that don't know the saints actually put up a banner for selling out via season tickets last year... the first time in their 30 year history.

Of course they couldn't sell out a game.. but when they start winning everyone is on the bandwagon.

Let me know where I proclaimed how great the phils are,I kind of remember betting against them.I myself am just rooting for my home town team when they're in a big spot, its called regional pride.I'm sorry my qualifications don't meet the approval for fandom of someone who's paid their dues by watching horrible basketball and posting unintelligibly about it on a website nobody reads.Do you see how you've become the obnoxious yankee type fan yet? We're jackasses because we don't share the same level of(in your mind) enthusiasm for horrible athletic franchises that you do?Pat yourself on the back big guy, you deserve it.

I feel like I just took a huge dump.

My point remains the same.Someone standing up and saying I'm a bigger fan than you so stop rooting for your team is gay.

No no, I'm not saying to stop rooting, that's ridiculous.

I just like to have meaningful conversations with people who follow their team and know what they're talking about. You're not the biggest Phils fan in the world, but you know the players, know what the talking heads are saying, and make valuable contributions to these threads.

It's just weak when some fan-for-a-day comes in yapping about "my team is the best." I like it when home town fans jump on the bandwagon, because it's great when a stadium is rocking for big games. And of course, people can post about whatever the fuck they want, I'm just saying that posts by new "fans" are weak, and bring nothing to the table.

You're god damn right I do.

Philly sports media is reporting that the closer for colorado was soaking his shirt before coming out to pitch so he could doctor the ball. Can Colorado win without cheating in some way?

Water is what it looked like but if your shirt is soaking wet wouldnt it be easier to hide grease or some other shit to hide the stain it would leave? Not the reason the phils lost but still kind of weird.

Guy at my works car breaks down yesterday and he needs to leave right around 1 to get home so it can be towed which coincidently is right around when half of philly started drinking for the game.So he calls in this morning sick but has the balls to ask if we saw certain plays yesterday while we were working.Uh no, I was covering for you and only could listen to it.

Actually, I'll just post the column ('sup crackers?)

Umps, keep an eye on that Rockie

Rockies closer Manny Corpas came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth, retired the Phillies in order and that was that.

Or was it?

TBS cameras on Corpas warming up before coming into yesterday's 4-2 Colorado win in Game 1 of the National League Division Series at Citizens Bank Park clearly showed the righthander pour a cup of water or soda on the front of his shirt before leaving the bullpen and then rubbing dirt on the area.

Then, when he went into the game, he appeared to go to that spot before several of his pitches in order to get a better grip on the baseball. Since the Rockies' road jerseys are black, any discoloration on the shirt would have been difficult to detect.

It's illegal for pitchers to apply a foreign substance to the baseball. That became a huge issue last October when television cameras showed Tigers lefthander Kenny Rogers with a noticeable smudge on his pitching hand during Game 1 of the World Series against St. Louis.

The Phillies declined comment.

Crew chief Dale Scott had left the ballpark and was not available for comment.

"I don't know anything about it," Rockies general manager Dan O'Dowd told the Rocky Mountain News. *
