[BANANA]Chicago: 1999
All five of Chicago's major sports teams closed out the 1900's on a woeful note. The Bears were a sub-mediocre 6-10. The White Sox, a year prior to winning the division under Jerry Manuel, went 75-86 and finished a very, very distant second (21-and-a-half out) in the AL Central. The Cubs followed up their '98 wild-card season with a woeful 67-95 mark. The Blackhawks slipped, slid, and stumbled to a 29-41-12 record. Finally, the Bulls, freshly dismembered of Michael, Scottie, and Phil, and guided by the luckless Tim Floyd, mooed and lowed to a sorry 13-37 record in the strike-shortened 1999 NBA season, along the way setting a single-game record for fewest points in a game in the shot clock era (49 against the Heat). It was a fitting way to end a century that brought a good deal more frustration than elation to Chicago fans[/BANANA]http://thephatphree.com/features.asp?Sto...youtType=1.
