My computer has Norton Antivirus and the Microsoft protector thingy and I also have the xoftspy scanning whatchamacallit. It got by them all.

What should I do about this?

spybot s&d
adaware
(three free proggies)

You can alternatively download the giant antispyware (microsoft bought them and they quickly rebranded the software as "beta" *they are busy adding bugs*)
free too, good tool (hell m$ didn't created it, it's all that easy).

And norton. ahah joke of the century.

EZArmor is pretty good and from what I heard AVG is alright but I never liked it.

personally I use this combination :

nod32 antivirus
Agnitum firewall (got update yesterday it includes a anti spyware tool as well now). Agnitum is just great

Spybot s&d/spywareblaster (those tools protects preventively from getting most known spyware, bla bla baddies hosts 127.0.0.1 bla).

And this doesn't kills my performances as nod32 is very lightweight, agnitum as well and spybot/spywareblaster basically rewrites a few config files (they aren't running all the time, just "one time" to *immunize* the system).

Anyhow I'll pass to all linux everywhere soon, the only thing that wasn't letting me to do that was that I liked to play games, like I don't have the time anymore and that the few that I care are getting ported on the penguin (and bla bla new kernel manages centrino stuff well bla bla).

Are nod32 and agnitum free or is there a fee??? If so.....nevermind I will check for them myself.
