a bad contract is a bad contract. this one seems like it might go that way. i've believed for years that pap would go for free agency and sign for as much as possible, that's who he is.

the sox don't feel that way about closers, for whatever reason. closers lose their gigs which such regularity, it makes spending that kind of cash kinda risky. he is one of the few truly proven guys out there, so who knows.
