As a Carolina fan, I like the rivalry when it's competitive. Not saying it's lop-sided. During the Doherty (sp) years, Carolina's recruiting wasn't what it used to be. Now, they are finally getting the caliber players UNC/Duke fans are accustomed to. I don't know why Coach K loves Paulus as much as he does. It will be a refreshing change to have Coach K return to putting players on the floor based on talent and heart rather than his personal favorites.
He's got no choice.Nobody on that roster at the guard spot has any big game experience or any better talent than Paulus.K needs to target some big name players instead of trying to mold a bunch of above average guys. Its tough to do and I think he thinks he can coach his way there which he might be able to but it leads to dud years like this.
