Its like saying the US government was overwhelmed by that Volcano going off in Iceland or where ever.We'd be more capable of handling an oil spill on the moon.The government is not an oil company.The oil companies if they plan on doing oil company business need to have plans for this type of stuff.They didnt because of lax regulation thanks to the previous administration that literally let CEO's into the whitehouse to craft energy policy.

I think what this unprecedented disaster in the gulf is showing Obama and the rest of the democrats is that blaming the president or an administration for disasters on this scale is a huge pile of crap.

I mean, seriously you can't prevent a hurricane. All you can do is be as prepared as possible, manage the death and destruction as well as you can when it hits and then rebuild. And sure you can pick that apart all day about what could have been done or should have been done. Any response is not going to be good enough. And that was a natural disaster.

Now this one is a manmade disaster. And its still going on. Its been over a month and its still going. The impact of this is going to be astronomical. And, unlike New Orleans which is pretty much back in business, the Gulf is going to be a damaged reminder of this situation for a long long time.

The story of this catastrophe hasn't even begun yet.

I'm contradicting myself on purpose. Seriously. I find it amazing that everyone thought Katrina was Bushs fault and they feel Obama has no fault. Its a purely ignorant view in my opinion. I think he has the authority to take over this whole thing. Get BP off of this project and get something moving. Did BP really need to run that smaller pipe down there? No. Any idea why they did it? I'm lead to believe they are doing it to recover some oil from the well while trying to figure out how to cap it without ruining the well.
