Circumcision question

Banana Wrote:Do you want a legitimate answer?

So we should all circumcize infants because they could marry ho's? When we have failed to even prove that a clear relationship exists between men, except in Africa, and the state of their foreskin? Seems reasonable. Confusedcratch: For now , until I see further evidence, there has been no proof that this would actually prove to be an effective method of combating HIV/AIDS. Also, I would stress that large numbers of people would ignore the implication that circumcision means "reduce, not prevent" and it would be a dangerous precedent if we implied that being circumcised prevented one for acquiring AIDS. Let's not forget there are scores of circumcized men with HIV. And scores of uncircumcized men without HIV.

Until you see further evidence people die by the 100's of thousands a year in africa when there is a harmless procedure that 49 times out 50 has no negative ramifications long term that could possibly reduce the rate of a fatal disease by almost half. You know its almost impossible to study anyway with the different variables involved and the fact that you are a willing participant in someone possibly infecting themselves. It could take a generation to get concrete results you're looking for but in the mean time people are possibly missing out on something that could help them.

I get that it shouldt replace contraception as a way to prevent AIDS but there isnt exaclty a a 7-11 on every corner with condoms in africa and very few will recieve any health care after they leave the hospital the day they were born.I'll take reducing infected patients rather then preventing infections if thats probably the best you can hope for during an epidemic in a 3rd world country.Like I said in my other post the issue is radically different when talking about say the US and Canada. Here its almost a vanity thing "How's johhny going to feel when he gets older?" compared to the life or death consequences undeveloped countries face.

I'm not reading all those pages. I'll just answer the question.

My boyfriend is cut. If I ever have a son, I'll get him cut. It's healthier in the long run. Because as sick as it sounds, uncut boys have to make sure it's washed and cleaned really really good, because if not, they can develop a cheesy-like infection type thing. In the end, it's just easier.

Only reason I know, is because I was pregnant for a while (yeah, I miscarried, long story, happened a few years ago, dont' wanna talk about it, the end) and I was researching a lot of different stuff about boys and girls.

People seriously think it's hard to clean a penis? Wow. Better hope that girls clean well. I imagine a vagina is just as "hard", in that case. Also, if you didn't bother reading these pages, you would have missed the research citing the pros and cons of circumcision, so for now, I'll just say that circumcision itself carries many risks that may just outweigh a "cheesy-like" infection.

I said earlier that you don't even need to retract the foreskin to clean under it until the boy is old enough to do so on his wn. Once he is, you teach him and you tell him that if he doesn't clean properly, it will hurt. He'll probably clean.

As a kid, my mom told me to brush my teeth or I would need fillings and that would hurt. I didn't brush. I needed fillings. It hurt. I wish she would have just pulled all my teeth and given me dentures. then I woldn't have to worry about this hassle of cleaning them.

Paddy, you must have to get up awfully early to clean your penis!

I guess I'd need research that proves this is an effetive measure in industrialized countires where people are still getting cut with no apparent reason other than the "cosmetic" advantages that so may parents believe. This includes looking better and being more clean. The first one is avbout the parents, not the infant. The second is about teaching and education.

Some information on complications

http://www.circumstitions.com/Complic.html

http://www.cirp.org/library/complications/

Notably "One study was conducted that followed circumcised boys beyond the immediate post-operative period. It concluded that complications occurred at an alarming rate of 55%. [Patel]

“Some children end up with adhesions and/or skin bridges which can impede hygiene and actually precipitate infections.”

Do you all not know that you can also get 'cheesy-like' bacterial infections in your belly button?? Or in your anus?? Or just about anywhere on your body where their are moist damp folds of skin?? We clean all these places regularly because we were taught to, right?? We just do it, no one whines about that damn belly button of theirs and how sick they are of having to clean it. You just do it, no second thoughts. If you teach your son to clean properly at an early age when its time, it'll be habit and second nature. He won't know any different. So just as he'll wash his ass, clean in his belly button, and behind his ears, I don't think he'll fuss about having to clean his dick.

Besides, girls commonly get 'cheesy-like' infections and all sorts of otherg goop in their vaginas. Girls deal with it and get over it, guys can too.

Sure if I lived in africa where protection is scarce and aids were pevelant, I'd probably cicrumsize my son because it can't hurt to err on the side of caution. But where I live, and with how available all forms of protection against stds are, theres no reason other than esthetics, so I won't do it.

I'm cut.
We waffled on it a bit with my boys.
As evil as it may be, we went with the cut...mainly because my wife prefers the aesthetics of cut penis. Not that she'd be admiring our son's penii, but she figures more women prefer that...so it'd be best for them.

And what Flumper said....only the poor kids and wierd kids were uncut.

Will your wife choose your son's wives too? I'm playing Devil's Advocate here, because you can't possibly determine what kind of women (or men Wink) your kids will marry. They may or may not find a woman who prefers it.

circumcision as a child, if it hurts, is not a pain that the child remembers. circumcision as an adult would probably hurt like a motherfucker, and that would be remembered. circumcision makes it easier for the child to be cleaner, both under parental care and when they take on that responsibility. it's probably safer to lock your kid in a sterile room until the riskier childhood phase has passed rather than immunize them against diseases, but it's not reasonable because it harms them socially. much like having a filthy grown-over penis head would

I think foreskin is overkill on Evolution's part.

:loool: Yeah. So you have flaccid dildos? Huh They look pretty much the same erect. But, you are right. Dildos are cut. So let's cut infant boys. They are like dildos.

My dildo actually doesn't have a head. It's a pure pocket rocket. Off with the head too!!!
