Mike Bibby passed on 6 million to play for the heat this year. His value will surely rise after this series.

Deshawn Stevenson.Reason #458 the NBA is better than the NHL.This only adds to the credence of my theory that Lebron's thought of as a dork by most NBA players.Guy gets killed by practically nobodies in the league.

Sean Avery did the same thing.

It's "tell me how my Dirk tastes" so it's not the same thing that Avery did. It's actually the same thing that shaq did 6 years ago which is one of many interesting things that happens in the NBA that enters the cultural lexicon. The NHL has that one time Sean Avery said "sloppy seconds".I take it all back.Hockey is king.

Hey congrats about Hockey being on a national TV station last night.Big deal for a niche sport I'm sure. There must have been a pro bull riding event that garners more ratings that versus needed to run.

That was just as exciting as a guy taking a slap shot at the point and having it deflect off three guys and into the net.

Players are looking for all sorts of different income opportunities during the lockout. Ron Artest is shopping his stand-up comedy wares. Deron Williams is taking his talents to Turkey. And Paul Pierce? Well, he's mostly just having fun. But he's still got a shot at making some money from non-basketball sources.

CSNNE reports that Pierce has made the second day at the World Series of Poker main event. When asked why Pierce is in the tournament? Well, it's pretty obvious it's not just a totally fun endeavor, considering the $10,000 buy-in. From CSNNE:
"The prize," Pierce told ESPN when asked why he was taking part in the Texas Hold 'Em tournament in Las Vegas. "Who wouldn't want to try and come and win that?"

Pierce calls himself an amateur poker player, but he has survived as about half of the more than 2000 players who entered the tournament have been eliminated. Former WSOP main event champion Chris Moneymaker is one of the professionals already gone.

When Pierce goes all in Kevin Garnett comes out of the crowd and gets in the face of any asians in the same hand and challenges them to a fight.

I started my fantasy football league up and set a draft date for the end of august.Theres no doubt they are going to make a deal.

The NBA is a little funny. You have guys like Deron Williams who have enough money already and can go play in europe for a million a season but for 95% of the league its not an option or it is but they would get paid less than half of what they make in the nba.I think the europe stuff is just bullshit to try to gain leverage for a players association that doesnt have much.Right now there is a past NBA lottery pick ordering off the dollar menu at Mcdonalds because he spent his last check on rims.I predict a month or two of "we're not going to play next year" and then the dam breaks and the players fold.Especially after the NFL reaches a deal.
