18 years old.No college required, tennis, golf, soccer, baseball can draft high school kids so why cant basketball.I see this as the nba not wanting to pay for a farm system like baseball's to develop younger players and wants to rely on the NCAA to do it.If the nba was truely concerned about the education of young people they would make 4 years in college mandatory.

Some sort of minor league system would be beneficial.

Unfortunately, players like Garnett, O'Neal, Stoudemire, and LBJ are the exceptions, not the rule.

Just thing how much better portland would be if they still had O'neal. All rookies sign 3 year deals. Think of all the players who leave after their 3 years and really turn out good.


What about all the busts too.... these guys get their big payday but being 18 and young they blow it all with no more money coming in.
