A) First off, I've never banned anyone in my life. Let's get our facts straight if we're going to bring them into an argument.
B) Why does what I think about how a site (not just this site, ANY site) should be run offend you so?? That's the beauty of opinions -- everyone is entitled to one. This place would be damn boring if no one ever posted their opinion because they were afraid people would disagree.
C) Bringing my occupation into this to try to invalidate my point is 2nd grade bullshit and I think you're capable of a more intelligent argument than that.
D) You still have yet to answer my initial question -- do you think the state of this site as it is today is conducive to attracting and keeping new members? And don't say that new members don't matter because that was the whole premise for my comment, IF Lee's purpose in wanting to make this change was to attract new members.
E) I think I "get" this place pretty well, actually. You don't agree but guess what, you're entitled to that opinion! And I won't even jump up your asscrack cuz I don't agree with it.

regardless of whether or not e-drama drives traffic or brings in new members, trying to inorganically alter that dynamic is not what this board is about.
this board was built on minimal rules and little to no admin/moderator interference ('sup snarg?
)if people come here now and don't like what they see, then they're not the IT type anyway. if someone joins and gets run within 15 minutes because Bird was being mean, then they don't belong here. I'm on board with driving traffic and bringing new fun people here, but they've got to conform to us, not the other way around.
i don't know who your "friends" are jcw, but if you think they'd like IT then there's nothing to be embarrassed about. this palce is what it is, and if people don't like that they can stay at whatever board they're already at.

Saying it wouldn't be a bad idea to ban people who are driving away your contributing traffic is the same as banning people? Jesus, I didn't realize how power-hungry I'd become with all those important modding decisions I make at X on a daily basis.

Heres the funny thing with all this.Lee was basically asking if putting this site in front of more people to maybe attract some new people with whatever program he posted would be a good thing.Not sure how you can be totally against that since its pretty harmless either way.Fucking JCW comes in and basically says this place is embarrassing.The end.Thanks for the help there.

There's a difference between ripping on each other with the (unspoken) understanding it means nothing, and vile personal attacks meant to hurt people and relationships like the ones that have been doled out by Blondie and phantom (the "embarrassing posters" that Flump is so intent on me outting). Joking around because it's the Internet is great -- being a complete asshole and tarding up EVERY GODDAMN THREAD FOR MONTHS and ruining the fun for everyone else who tries to stay out of it is completely different and I'm surprised that you don't see where I'm coming from even a little bit here.

I offered my opinion, as someone who has run multiple sites, including message boards. No one else did, they just lambasted me for having the balls to say what I thought. How is that helping any more than what I said?
