Twenty years ago, passenger cars in the United States averaged 21.1 miles per gallon. In 2008, the last year for which the Department of Energy has data, the figure was 22.6 miles per gallon.
Thats ridiculous.Chalk that up to the good old boys who must drive the suv's to supplement their small penis. It's to the point now where I laugh at how stupid people look when I see someone driving a Humvee. Its like your going to war or something driving around a suburban neighborhood.

Agreed.
Every president over the past 20 years has promised to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. We need to get our shit together soon if we are going to continue to function as a society at our same lifestyle. Ethanol is terrible as it kills our gulf of mexico more and more every year.. not to mention we are using food to make it. Electric cars are fine.. but don't those things take like 6 or 8 batteries to run. Ever wonder where dead batteries end up? They aren't even equipping new houses with solar panels.... WTF?
Hey Bird, when you voted for Obama, did you do so -

There's no payback on solar panels for residential homes.I sat through a presentation and thats the first thing the guy trying to sell the system told the meeting.
Ethanol is a waste and just welfare for white farmers but its killing the gulf just the same as oil is.
Electric cars are the future.I'll take figuring out where to store the used batteries over all the pollution oil causes.

Weekly Standard(Bill Kristol) are the geniuses that championed Sarah Palin for vice pres. They sure know how to pick them.
How much do you think the Bush clan being in bed with Saudi Arabia(which sparks terrorism like 9\11) and invading Iraq(which worked out great for us!) have to do with gas prices being lower during his tenure?
Isnt not being in bed with oil countries part of the change Obama was talking about?I'll take not kissing up to dictators who piss off their own people who then fly planes into our buildings over cheap gas.

Most of it has to do with all the unrest in the Middle east...

Here's a situation all you "we're bringing democracy to the mid east" yokels seem to be ducking.Libya who was a terrorist state back in the 80's gets brought back into the fold because they have oil and GWB was president.Turns out Quadaffi(sp) despite having oil is still a shit bird.Do you prefer a new more muslim government that is hostile to the oil companies and the US in Libya over a killer like Quadaffi(sp)?

Personally I don't give a fuck what they do.
I do think Obama shoulda kept his mouth shut instead of proclaiming Qaddafi should go. Its obvious we can't win a war in the middle east and we don't need to be sticking our necks out in Libya. Bush got killed over going into Iraq... Don't do it again. That being said, he has made his proclamation. Maybe now we should at least provide food for the rebels.
Other than that I let NATO do whatever they want to do with it. Now Saudi is having some problems with protests and whatnot.. the middle east a time bomb about to explode. Its going to get crazy.

I think we should have never normalized relations with Quadaffi. After Lockerbie theres no going back.If it was an non oil country we would never have.I'm glad Obama came out against a murderer.
You mean the UN not NATO.Fuck the Saudi's.They've been raping us for decades.9\11 was caused by us getting in bed with these dictators who treat their people like shit so the only outlet they have with that frustration is to take it out on us.Shit will change for the better.Cell phones and the internet make it hard to bullshit people anymore.

Interesting\Sad\Hilarious\Welcome to 8 years of a black president.
As a group, political reporters are far more secular than the rest of the country, leading them sometimes to misrepresent or underappreciate the impact of religion on voting. I think there is some informative shoe leather reporting undone about how Mormons are perceived by GOP voters.
When I talk to Christian Evangelical friends who are active in Republican politics, their first concern about Romney is not Massachusetts’ health care program and their first concern about Huntsman is not that he worked for President Obama. Rather, they just don’t feel comfortable with the idea of a Mormon President. They generally do not consider Mormons to be Christian and harbor deep distrust about much of LDS practice and beliefs. This Pew poll is a bit out of date, but check out the subsection on GOP Christian Evangelicals to get a flavor of these attitudes.
I don’t see how a Mormon candidate gets out of closed GOP primaries in states like South Carolina and Pennsylvania which have high proportions of Evangelicals. And it’s even worse when they are two candidates competing for the same subset of such voters who are willing to vote for a Mormon.
The history here is interesting. At the wonderful moment in 1854 when the Republican party came into existence and catapulted the career of the man who became perhaps our greatest President, its founders pledged to wipe out “the twins relics of barbarism”. One of those of course was slavery, but few people recall that the other was Mormon polygamy.

On one hand its kind of refreshing to see bigotry directed at white people from other white people. This is not racism, correct?Help me out here, 8.Its discrimination?"I'm not racist!I won't even vote for the Mormon over the nword!".Oh how I love the sad, uneducated but sure as shit of themselves america.

I can see it being discrimination.... I'm not sure what kind of information you want from me though. Would I vote for a mormon? Sure. Would I vote for a brother? Sure. If its a swipe at Republicans surely you don't think that all the Democrats are educated and very intelligent. Its an overall sign of American in general.... how lazy we as a society has become.

I believe you would vote for a black mormon if he was the former ceo of BP.I'm not calling you racist.Slightly motivated by greed maybe masked as looking out for the family. On a whole not too much wrong with that considering the world we live in.
I believe Democrats are more educated and intelligent and independent studies bear this out.Take evolution for example.
How the fuck with all the scientific research and discovery can 52% of the GOP think that god created humans in our present form 10,000 years ago?I know what they say and its that you can't trust all scientific research which is somewhat true but theres overwhelming evidence the earth and humans are over 10,000 years old. These same people who scoff at anything a scientist says that contradicts the bible are the same people who run to the best educated doctor to have their babies or treat their cancer who are trained in the same scientific method as those geologists they scoff at.
It's not even education thats the difference.I didnt go to college. Its being willfully ignorant. To me thats a huge sign of lack of intelligence and the GOP base is willfully ignorant which causes the people who want to be elected by them to follow suit.

Republicans called the bill “a down payment on total repeal” while most Democrats said it marked an improvement in last year’s law. The bill had previously cleared the House and now goes directly to Mr. Obama.

Oh the GOP that campaigned on repealing a socialist program their tea party masters demanded be repealed call it a down payment on repeal??Well then lets call the whole thing off!Its not like they are going through the motions so they don't get the tea party mad at them. That would be disingenuous which is totally not like them.
Bottom line is there will always be from now on medical coverage for people who don't have insurance.Call it a revised bill or a paired down bill or whatever but the simple fact remains that the poor will get medical treatment just the same as the rich. The nut of this is that any attempt to "repeal socialized medicine" endangers medicare because that is in fact socialized medicine. Its here. You've been tricked into believing anything that is socialist is unamerican. You will get over this.Let me know when it happens.
Two things to watch out for in the coming weeks.
1.Seniors noticing that the budget plan that Ryan guy came out with shifts a whole bunch of costs to people over 65 on medicare which aint going to go over well.White seniors are a huge bloc of the GOP.
2.Good job numbers come out, the stock markets up 45% since last year and the GOP wants to shut down the government which in turn stops the economy from growing.Even white people who hate Obama arent going to go for that.
Just sit back and let Obama(who you've gone along with demonizing) handle shit because your party is clearly incapable.

I prefer the ticket of Donald Trump and ???? in 2012.
Do you think they can get that fat gay guy from the original survivor to be his vice president?Dream team!
P.S.
Your political party is such a joke to the point a reality tv star who can't turn a profit in casino's is in 2nd place in the polls.

Yup.I sell shit where pricing is directly tied to oil and resin prices and we are at historically high pricing levels with the direction being its not done going up.Part of this however is manufactures who were worried about going out of business during the economic collapse and sold shit cheap just to keep the plant operational are now realizing that business is improving and there's enough demand for them to now recoup some of their losses.I predict by late July-August gas starts to drop.

The kicker here... and i'm sure you know are the freight companies adding that fuel surcharge. We had one company add a $25 surcharge last time gas went up. Cool right? Yeah except it never came off when gas dropped. Now they have informed us that the charge is going to $50.
SAHHHHHWEEEEET

Interesting thing I read about the Trump being tied for second in the GOP primary polls....Most of the 17% he picked up are people who peeled off from supporting Romney.Mittster's campaign is a lost cause for reasons like white people being racist to Mormons and such but in my mind he's the most stable guy in the field on the right. How does one explain people who were supporting the stable business oriented guy and within a week now switched to the unstable and borderline nuts shady business guy?Huge red flag for Romney.
