on the one hand he'll be a free agent and will get overpaid elsewhere so at least they got something for him, and Green is a solid player who obviously makes the team younger.

but I dunno...now Shaq is the starting center, and he's not going to be able to guard guys like Dwight Howard or Bynum for a whole game. The Cs starting 5 had never lost a playoff series (losses to Orlando and LA were without KG and Perk, respectively) when totally healthy, and they sure seemed like they were headed in that direction for the stretch run.


I guess this means Danny is more worried about Miami, Chicago, and San Antonio (and New York?) than he is about Orlando or LA.


Will also be interesting to see how he fills out the roster spots vacated by lil Nate, Semih, and Harangody. Everyone seems to think Troy Murphy is going to be bought out and signed at some point.

Not a great move for the Celts.Green is a good player but he'll be a backup to Garnett and Pierce so I'm not seeing the benefit of getting him.Shaq is not shaq anymore.Sure he's resting, quint.So is my dog from childhood.Green coming in could be a sign that they are worried about Garnett's health more than anything.

Green's a free agent coming up too so goats point about getting nothing for perkins is not valid.This was a move for this year only.

No one is worried about Orlando.Dwight Howard is possibly the most overrated superstar in the last ten years.Shaq in his prime type game but half as dominant and dumb as shit to boot.Ainge is just trying to get to the eastern conference finals.There is no move out there that would have made them better than the Lakers or Spurs.Not to say they can't win it all but I doubt it.

I'm starting to warm up to it a bit. I think Danny had injury concerns with Perkins as well, and they've done pretty well without him in the lineup for most of the year. I think he views Green as the more signable FA, plus they got a first round pick out of the deal as well, which is why I say they got something out of it.

They need Green more as a replacement/upgrade over Marquis Daniels than as a backup for KG, though he'll fill both roles. maybe it will work out but I'm not sure it was really necessary. first place team with a mostly healthy nucleus that has never lost, why mess with that?

I like Big Baby as your backup\starting center over Perkins anyway.If Garnett starts to slow down or gets hurt it was a good trade.If Shaq plays like last few years shaq its a bad trade.

The knicks lack size, depth and rebounding... they'll make the playoffs but won't make it past the 2nd round. Having Melo and Amare is terrible. While they are both all stars they aren't playoff winners.

The celtics one strength was their size... so they trade it all away? Didn't they also sing Jermaine O'Neal for almost 6 million a year? WTF? Is that guy really worth 6 mill?

Wow.They ADDED rebounding when they got melo.The last thing they lack is size.You've got two of the most dominant forwards in the league.Neither Amare or Anthony are winners at this point but this deal was the start of the process for them.They still can get Chris Paul whenever he bails on the Hornets.The Melo trade was not just to win it all this year.

Perkins and Big Baby are the same net result.Green can spell Garnett and Pierce so I'd take that over having someone provide relief to Perkins or Shaq.

Jermaine O'Neal is a bum.

The Heat are still playing like its 3 on 5 most games.Last night it was one on one's, Lebron or wade vs whoever for the last 10 minutes.I think Wade dislikes Lebron or at least the fact he's the most talented player on the Heat.Something in the body language.Mike Miller sucks balls.JJ Redick is better by a mile.If they had a guy who could consistently knock down open three's they'd win a lot easier.Right now all things considered I think the Heat lose to the Celts in the eastern conference finals.

Mike Miller was practically out of the league and looks like a shell of his former self.He's their 3rd offensive option in a pinch.Not a good sign.Spoelstra is in a no win situation.If they win its because they have Lebron, wade and Bosh.If they lose its the coaches fault.

Bottom line is they don't have a point guard.All this talk of Lebron being a point forward like Magic is a joke.Magic didnt look to set himself up first and you can't run the point that way and expect everyone to get involved.Only way they win is if Wade and Lebron score 30 each.That might work for one or two games.

Also "King James" hasnt hit a clutch shot in two years.

It does.Someone who gets enough respect to force Lebron into a forward role automatically helps because it puts the players in the correct place.I think I've seen Wade on the side or down low as much as Lebron so far.Never at the top of the perimeter where he's at his best and has actually won a championship before playing there.Lebron at the top taking step back three's is what you want if you are the opposing team.Bibby aint great but he's somebody to fill that role.

Isnt that kind of a no brainer?I was listening to Mike and Mike(shoot me) this morning and the beat reporter for the Heat was saying Spoelstra probably owes the team an apology for saying that.I think it was Doug Gotlieb who asked "well were there players crying" and the guy said probably.Why the fuck are they owed an apology then?Fucking ridiculous.Make some fucking shots in the clutch you assholes and nobody will have to cry.
