If it was meant to be controversial it could be considered well written.Its so out of left field it comes off like a crazy person wrote it.
Someone wrote that the title of the article "Many odd things have happened in sports over the last 18 years" was like the editor saying "move on, nothing to see here" which is so true.
I wonder what the writer would consider worse for that girl, Being raped and impregnated by her captor or missing the Giants upsetting the Pats in the superbowl?

that's what I meant...if he was just writing about odd/surprising things that happened recently, it was sort of clever.
in the context he wrote it, it's completely nuts and tasteless.

Here's a peek into what I deal with on a daily basis and how you should not fuck with me in a written smack talk session.My mens softball team blows.Like 0-8 blows.I'm solid of course (batting.660) but the rest of the team not so much.Anyway last thursday we get mercy ruled in the 4th and the other team was just teeing off on us.Theres one of those rules where you can't hit more than 4 homers in one game.After the 4th its an out.The other team hits that rule by the top of the 1st, no shit.After the game our pitcher had the balls to blame fielding as the reason we lost. Me and another guy collided for a ball in the outfield for an error cause center is a jackoff. That was one of 3 errors the whole game for the fielding but I heard the pitcher mention my name as a reason we lost.I let it go because I know the guys emotional and he lives for softball.Anyway this guy is in my fantasy league and so is another guy who I'm playing this weekend.The guy I'm playing posts this as his smack talk.

I respond in a joking fashion I thought was apparent
"Its slow and ugly. I apologize for my left field play costing us the game. I should have brought a ladder to catch some of those shots."
So the pitcher who see's this posts this

Well ok.Threatening violence after a softball game seems rational.This guys a fat fuck who can't play any other position but pitcher and only bats in the .300's so I can't help myself and respond with this.

I'm pretty sure I heard you were asking why I was playing left after we got mercy ruled in the 4th. That doesnt seem like your following your own rule of saying shit to peoples face. I'm not sure how the 4 runs I let up compare to the other 12 we all let up before the game was called especially when the other teams players are betting in the dugout on the fact they will hit a home run and then do. For the record I never blamed you for the loss and chalked it up to all of our horrible team and pick ups sucking.
My whole life isnt softball so its not that big a deal to me and if you want I'll repeat all this to you on Sunday but do yourself a favor and take a breather, Nolan Ryan. Also maybe consider why most pitchers in softball are old men. Its cause they can't play any other position and are good at what is the equivalent to throwing horse shoes.
To sum up, never blamed you for the loss but did remark on how far some of those home runs were because it was funny. This hurt your feelings and I'm really sorry. I'll apologize in person on sunday but please let me wait unit after I make up for your hitting by getting on base 3 times."
That devastated him I'm pretty sure because he responded thussly.
