When duke lost in the 2nd round... were they the hands down favorite to win it all?

I hate to say it but Duke has possibly the best balanc on offense as any team in the tournament.They have the outside game with Scheyer and Singler.A slasher in Nolan Smith and the bruisers down low on the boards with the Plumlee boys and Zubeck.Speaking of zubeck I'm pretty sure he's a reanimated corpse like Frankenstein.I was watching him on defense and he literally plods around like he just learned to walk.

I think Laettner took over Zubeks body. I am ecstatic at dukes run.. but won't get excited till they get to final four. Its been too long and too many bumps along the way.
Clay... does KU dropping a HUGE game like this remind you of all the bad times or do you cling to that one title Self has won?
Oh and props to the big east on being a basketball conference.

A little of both. I have to remind myself that Self is a capable coach, but at the same time they road one guy all year long in Collins much like they did with Simien the year they lost to Bucknell. This team was talented enough by far to win it all, they just didn't have a killer instinct and it showed all year long. I just thought being the most talented team in America would automatically get them there. This type of loss will set them up to make up for it next year or the year after. The Morris boys are a great center piece for the future. It's such a shocking loss, but at the same time I'm not really that surprised by it.

The Henry brothers, Xavier specifically, is possibly going pro. I don't think he showed enough this year to be a lottery pick, but who knows. Marcus Morris played more like a pro talent this year than Xavier Henry and he's said he'll be back. Xavier's brother C.J. barely played this year and it's possible he could transfer (again) or just not play. He never really devoloped.
I like Duke's chances now after seeing the rest of the tourney develop. Kentucky will run into a team that causes fits. Cornell maybe?
This could be one of the strangest tournements in history. It also makes a strong case for expansion, which I'm against.
