big day for MA

Sorry for the delyed response here did'nt see the post until now.

You're probably right on the healthcare and I do not deny it is needed for this country. Heck I pay 13k a year for my family outta my pocket and my company pays the other half. 6k family deductible and 2k individual. This is going to be considered one of those "cadillac plans" under the current senate bill that has gone back to the house for negotiation and is now subject to a 40% tax. I have 6 kids. If they hit me with that kind of tax it is going to hit hard. So I don't see how I will be better off. The unions on the other hand went behind closed doors with the current administration a couple of weeks ago and negotiated themselves out of that deal. Leaving all us other hard working folk in the crapper. That is how things are done in Washington.

60% of the voters in the Ma. election were independents. This isn't just heresay. It is a fact. The majority of those went for Brown and decided the election. Tea partiers from all over the nation assisted the Brown campaign. Yes I am involved in the Tea Parties and call me what you want for that. I can tell you there are Republicans, Independents and YES DEMS alike in the events I go to. This is because they are sick of the Washington Rule. I can tell you IT WAS POLICY that drove them to help Scott Brown and not for lack of a good dem candidate like you say. So instead of listening to CNN & MSNBC all the time try going to one of the events before you take someone else's word about what they are all about. I assure you that you would find concerned Americans just like you and me. So I would have to just agree to disagree with you concerning the "she was just a bad candidate" theory.

We disagree.Brown will be a one termer.

I've never watched Glenn Beck in my life. I don't watch much in the way of television. You need to go back to calling me ridiculous high school names riddled with cuss words. The whole attempt at intelligence thing doesn't suit you.

I didn't say it was my business. I get a kick out of all you bleeding heart liberals yapping about the importance of these absurdly expensive programs to help the "needy." If you are so bent on these programs being necessary, it's only logical that you're sending the government any extra cash you have so they can better afford to pay for what's so important to you. You think it's ok to tell Lolly where she can and can't spend the money she and her family earned, based on what you think is worthy (no jet skis!!), but when it comes time donate a little extra to the government (they know what's best!) you leave that line blank. Why aren't you ponying up? Donating to charity is very nice, but not the same.

Thanks for your input.

Why is it the needy are always the first target when it comes to being mad about how your tax dollars get spent?About 1% of of the budget goes to food stamps and other low income welfare programs. That % would rise if you included social security and medicaid but since you probably know people tapping those programs you are probably less outraged by it even though those programs are government handouts just the same as welfare. When its goats aunt and uncle on social security(which I'll probably never get to see) and medicaid its ok for the government to hand out money but when its dark skinned people from another neighborhood its bad spending and cause to be outraged.

The reason I can't take you seriously is because we just spent $702,853,248,985.00 on the Iraq war and occupation over the last 10 years and you never made a peep.Thats $5200 for out of every tax paying americans pocket. What are you getting out of that goat that makes you ok with it compared to your outrage with welfare programs? At least I can point to the the increase in welfare and education programs correlating in the lowering of crime rates over the past two decades. What benefit did the $5200 we both spent on Iraq get us?Wheres the outrage there?

Its easy to pick on the weak people you see from your ivory tower and blame them for all of america's problems but the money they get is a drop in the bucket compared to the money thats been wasted by the people you voted for.

Lolly, I came across this and wondered what you thought (given your liberitarian viewpoint):

Victor Hugo's Javert from Les Miserables. "When you won't show mercy for others, you not only imprison the people you hurt, you imprison yourself."

Insert clever, witty and amusing signature here.

Oh wow. I used to have that up in my classroom.
I have a super-long answer for this and I don't want to bore anyone with it.

she doesn't know about that hs diploma you got in your orifice :lol2:

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.
