Question since I've totally destroyed you on that topic.

Are you pro abortion?Just curious.

Well, I wouldn't say that I am "pro" abortion. I would like to think that option wouldn't ever have to be a reality, but I know it does. So I would certainly want a woman (whether she is alone or has a significant other) to make the decision of whether that is the right alternative.

So, yeah, I think abortion should be an available option.

Both in some peoples mind is the taking of a human life.

Did you know its cheaper to abort a baby than it is to raise them for the rest of their life? Unless they go on to murder someone and you have to execute them. then it balances out.

Its not a trap.I'm curious by the fact that you've taken the left wing position on both these issues. How do you sleep at night knowing you're such a pussy?

No but I share flumpers ideal of abortion being a very rare thing. To be honest I get nervous when scientists proclaim they know when life starts.I'm still staunchly pro choice though.

Assuming whatever position you've taken is the right wing position like you did the first time this came up probably helps you sleep.

Have you always been pro-choice?

And from a personal perspective, not political) are you for or against death penalty?

Pretty much but as I've gotten older and you see the disparity between who is getting them and for what reasons its kind of a hard thing for me to reckon as a positive thing overall and I mean that in the long view sense of it.I'm not looking down on anyone who gets one and I support their right to do it but I know there has got to be a way we can get those numbers way down by education on protection or something.200 years from now we could look back on this as a major travesty perpetrated by a primitive people.

I'm against it.I guess the conservative side of me has a problem with an elected body murdering people for basically no gain.Thats the only problem I have with it and I do think there should be some exceptions like Bin Laden. If you can prove the guy 100% killed a huge number of people and the whole world will be in an uproar if he was allowed to live then I'm open for the debate on if he should die.I'd rather decide between if a guy like that should die over a guy who killed the cashier in a 7\11.I'm talking one execution every 50 years.

i think we should have a new rule at IT:
when the littler peeper says, "i won" we should automatically lock the thread

i love the way the little guy pulls all the shit he accuses others of doing
classic, just classic
in this case, the flump is ahead on points, for obvious reasons

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.

Here's something that should make you nervous if you're in the oil industry.

Scientists in possible cold fusion breakthrough

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Researchers at a US Navy laboratory have unveiled what they say is "significant" evidence of cold fusion, a potential energy source that has many skeptics in the scientific community.

The scientists on Monday described what they called the first clear visual evidence that low-energy nuclear reaction (LENR), or cold fusion devices can produce neutrons, subatomic particles that scientists say are indicative of nuclear reactions.

"Our finding is very significant," said analytical chemist Pamela Mosier-Boss of the US Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) in San Diego, California.

"To our knowledge, this is the first scientific report of the production of highly energetic neutrons from a LENR device," added the study's co-author in a statement.

If we had cold fusion we'd have an unlimited supply of clean, safe energy. Now whats interesting about this is who announced the discovery. If the US government discovered a breakthrough as huge as this would they come out with it right away and let everyone on earth know they've figured this out?I've got to think they've known about this for years but kept it under wraps for secrecy purposes.Did Obama coming in change all that especially since he's been harping on a brand new green technology to spur the economy?

cold fusion has been sort of the holy grail for much of the scientific world for years. The reason they are racing to report it is because there are probably 100 laboratories around the globe working on the same thing right now. Everyone wants to be the first to claim success. This is not the first report of someone claiming to have solved it.
