Sean Avery is an ass

It's a pussy move to do so when the other person has no chance to respond.

we gotta keep the stupits in the loop

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.

Avery would have been totally fine if he said this on the ice to the other guy, right?Worse stuff than this gets said during every game. What is different about the fact he said it in the locker room?I think you two broads are just caught up in how classless he looked doing it.

They were playing that guys team he insulted that night or in the near future right? It would be a pussy move if he said it behind closed doors and never owned up to it.It was a lot of things but it wasnt a pussy move, very ballsy in fact.

He announced to the press in a rehearsed attempt to hit below the belt.

Of course it's about how classless he looked. What else would it be about? Did you actually read the article I linked?

I did but I don't think being classless is a suspendable offense.

This is freaking hockey we're talking about. He said it because he knew he was going to see the guy and they would probably fight.

If Avery said it on the ice to the guy and the guy skated over to the ref and complained would anything happen? The ref would laugh and say toughen up, right?

This has more to do with involving the woman than hitting below the belt.If he said he heard he wears a dress in the off season this wouldnt even be a blip on the radar screen even though thats just as classless.

His comment was the over reactive feminists bat signal.

If he would would have made a comment about Dion's penis size, it would have been just as classless. This isn't about feminism. Last time I checked, there wasn't any feminist branch of the NHL administration.

There are as many people who, like you, think it was ballsy, that think it was disgusting. I read in one article: One man's entertaining outspokenness, it seems, is another man's obscenity.

You know the league wrote this for him. He's officially my favorite player which is one positive thats come out of this for him.

"I would like to sincerely apologize for my off-color remarks to the press yesterday from Calgary," Avery said. "I should not have made those comments and I recognize that they were inappropriate.

"It was a bad attempt to build excitement for the game, but I am now acutely aware of how hurtful my actions were. I caused unnecessary embarrassment to my peers as well as people I have been close with in the past.

"I apologize for offending the great fans of the NHL, the commissioner, my teammates, my coaching staff and the Dallas Stars management and ownership. As many of you know, I like to mix it up on and off the ice from time to time, but understand that this time I took it too far."
