The Eagles have a fine field. You just can't play 10 games a week on it.

This is what I don't get about the Sean Taylor murder.Would you stay at a house after someone left a knife on your bed?

The shooting came eight days after another incident was reported at Taylor's home. An intruder pried open a front window, went through drawers and a safe and left a kitchen knife on a bed, according to the police report of the Nov. 18 incident.

Despite the break-in a week ago, there was no security system at Taylor's house, according to Emory Williams, a cousin of Taylor's.

This article is pretty good.It shows how disgusting the Patriots franchise is under Belicheks leadership. Some highlights...

According to several executives in the league, the season opener against the Jets was not the first time the Patriots had been spotted taping another team’s defensive coaches at Giants Stadium. In the final preseason game of 2006, the Patriots were caught taping a Giants defensive assistant giving signals, the executives said.

The incident prompted a letter addressed to all teams seven days later from the N.F.L. vice president Ray Anderson that detailed the league’s interpretation of the rules. That letter was cited by Commissioner Roger Goodell when he punished the Patriots.

Belichick has said that he misinterpreted the league’s bylaws, telling Goodell that he thought it was permissible to use electronic equipment as long as the information was not used in the same game. That explanation has been greeted with disbelief by some peers and league officials.

In a news conference last week, Goodell said Belichick’s explanation led to the assumption that he had been videotaping opponents’ signals “as long as he has been head coach.”

In the hallway at the convention center here, Mike Martz wanted to talk about his new job as San Francisco’s offensive coordinator. Instead, reporters peppered him with questions about the Patriots. Martz was the coach of the Rams when the teams met in the Super Bowl six years ago.

He took exception to the theory that the Patriots could not have gleaned much information from taping the walkthrough. He said indeed they could, but added that was not the point.

“For somebody to say that, it’s kind of disgusting,” Martz said. “The whole point is if they really cheated. To say he took some steroids and it did help or it didn’t help, that’s never the point. The point is, to all these high school coaches and high school kids and college kids, that if they did cheat, that’s the point.”

did the Times delve into how disgusting he was when he was an assistant with the Giants?

I'm sure they would have if there was evidence. That was Parcels team.He doesnt seem like a cheater. How unexpected of you to mount a half assed attempt to defend Belichek.I think there is now a 40% chance he will not be allowed back next year.

I'm just not buying it all because no one in football seems to care about it. The fucking Times and some douchebag senator are the ones leading the charge. Who are they?

A bunch of coaches (Jimmy Johnson, etc) have come out and said the whole thing is meaningless, and the only coaches/players who are saying anything are whiney Rams and Eagles.

If Belichick has been doing this forever, why were the Browns so terrible? Why isn't the Times digging up dirt on his time with the Jets or Giants? Why aren't they launching investigations into Parcells?

It just seems like everyone involved in this (on both sides, admittedly) has an agenda.

Is Mike Martz in football? He seems to care.Do you think the NFL sent out an internal memo saying to keep your mouth shut about this in order to protect the game?

Do you think Jimmy Johnson would have a different opinon if his team lost the superbowl to a team that might have cheated? Its shocking that Jimmy Johnson who already won his superbowl and spends most of his time fishing would think its not a big deal.

He didnt cheat with the Browns. Its obvious because they sucked. He probably didnt have the authority to cheat when he was an assistant so thats why they arent looking into that.Plus Parcells is supposed to be an honorable guy and probably wouldnt let that happen.

Face it your guy was a fucking cheater and if it was say holmgren with these accusations hanging over his head you'd bury him.

Mike Martz is grasping at straws because he lost. Johnson said the Bills could have watched all of their walk throughs and it wouldn't have made a difference.

I heard this morning that they were taping signals in game 1 of the 2000 season. That's his FIRST game w/the Patriots...so just out of the blue he started cheating during his first game with a new team?

Something doesn't add up. I'd just like to hear something from someone who's impartial.

Is it possible he started this practice the day he started working for the Pats?Yes it is.Even if he did it before does that somehow make the Pats superbowl wins legit again? No it doesnt.

the point is that I see a whole lot of sour grapes in just about everyone who continues to talk about it.

I'm also tired of talking about pretty much everything having to do with the Patriots.
