Quote:"New England realistically may have been able to catch one or two plays from doing that and they could've had somebody in the press box getting the same information," said former Atlanta Falcons general manager Ken Herock, who also worked as an executive in Oakland and Green Bay. "And what you're actually talking about is one or two plays out of about 60 snaps a game. That really isn't a great advantage."

No suspension is bullshit. How much is Belicheks contract worth? How bout after you add in endorsements?Answer this, does a monetary fine hurt the pat's one bit?How is that a punishment?New England is turning into the Yankee fans.Classic.

What classifys in your mind any wrong doing then? How many plays do the Pats have to have an edge on for it to be wrong?Doesnt it only take one snap to change a game?Surely you arent trying to justify this so whats the point of that quote? It's no big deal for Pats fans I guess.Wonder why?

Slow down, dude. The big part of the punishment is the draft pick. The monetary shit was going to happen either way, but Goodell chose draft picks over a suspension because it's a harsher punishment. Suspend Belichick for a game and what's the worst possible scenario? They lose? So they're 12-4 instead of 13-3? Or take a first rounder away, so they have to play the next 5 years w/o a Laurence Maroney or a Logan Mankins.

As for the quote, I'm not trying to say that what they did is right. My only point is that every team that has lost a game to the Patriots in the last several years is whining that they only lost because the Pats were stealing signals. That's what I think is ridiculous.

The Pats are wrong and it was a stupid, idiotic, and arrogant thing to do. They broke the rules and deserve the punishment they received, if not one that was even worse. Everyone steals signs. Whether people use binoculars or game footage or whatever. That quote basically says that the advantage they received is minimal if not nonexistent (as compared to say, binoculars) and that it's no where close to being worth the risk.

well the patsies have two first rounders next year anyway...

They probably should have taken more picks. A first rounder hurts, but the Pats had only two draft picks (1st and 2nd round) even make the team this year. They'll just be in the same boat next year. Inconvenienced, yes. Enough to stop them from videotaping again, yes. Enough to have it really affect them on the field, not really.

That #30 or 32 pick that they are going to lose is going to set the franchise back decades.

No, says the ex-GM of the Atlanta Falcons, who haven't won shit. I'm pretty sure a guy who's been an exec on 3 NFL teams knows a little bit more than do either of us.

It'll set them back a hell of a lot more than 1 or 2 losses will. Even if they gave him a 4 game suspension, two of their next 4 games are against Buffalo and Cleveland, who they'd beat with their eyes closed. So give them Ls against SD and Cincy...4 game suspension = 2-2 record at worst. Does that really punish them?

Say Belichek is suspended 4 games and NE loses all 3 of 4 games and lose home field advantage in the playoffs as a result.Isnt that a lot worse than losing one of two first round picks? They've still got a first so whats the big deal? You are hopped up on the kool-aid, sully.

They wouldn't lose to Buffalo or Cleveland with you as the coach.

He'd still do all of the game planning and week-long preparation anyway. But yes, if a suspension somehow cost them homefield advantage, that would probably be worse than losing a draft pick that they don't necessarily need. But, they did go TO San Diego last year and beat a 14-2 team in their own house, so who knows.

Yes I know they only won because they stole signs

Didnt they almost lose to the Bills last year in one game?

If Belichek were to be suspended he wouldnt be allowed to game plan or have any contact with the team until his suspension was over.See Wade Wilson.

Of course losing Belichek and possibly home field advantage is worse than losing draft picks.Nice job figuring that out.

Don't be mad at me that your coach tarnished your teams reputation for life and called every victory you've ever had into question. At least you didnt get punished and are on your way to your 4th tarnished superbowl.

I just heard on the radio that Barry Belichek was one of 8 coaches who voted against defensive coaches being able to signal plays to defensive players via a helmet radio like the offense does.Wonder why?

And what would your stance be if this wasn't the Pats? Instead of seeing what team a player or coach is on, how about judging the action? . Bonds (cheater) has been an idiot since his earlt days in Pittsburgh. Looks like Bill and Tom are could be known as the the Rosa Ruiz of the NFL.
People who knowingly cheat suck regardless of what town they play in.
The Pats have to win the Bowl this year. If they don't this team becomes an *.
