Thoughts in Tim Donaghy?
#1

Moving right along to crooked officials....

I've been following Tim Donaghy a little.

The NBA referee made $260.000 a year, had a gorgeous house and did not need the money.

WTF is he doing betting on the games?

BTW- he's taking half the NBA down with him.

He was addicted to betting.

It's a disease.

The NBA has a rule where all ref's arent allowed to gamble on anything but the ponys during the summer.Ref's are forbidden to enter casino's according to the NBA and their contract. The Ref's stayed at the Mirage Casino during the All Star game, figure that out.

It' a mess.Can you fire 20 ref's?

I read this 5 times and I still don't get it.

Stern is no dope. He'll fire or suspend 5 or 6 ref's for betting in a casino to make an example of them and then pronounce the game clean. When I heard that ref's could only bet on the ponys during the summer I knew right away that other ref's had to playing the slots in AC since alot of them live less then an hour from there. It's kind of a ridiculous rule but if they paid me $400,000 to ref 5 months a year and paid my expenses I think I could manage staying away from vegas. The funniest justification for Donahy's gambling is the comparison that idiots like Steven A Smith made between players salaries being so high compared to the ref's.Geez how are these poor ref's surviving on half a mil a year.Stern's real mistake was courting vegas for a team and having the all-star game there. What kind of message does it send to the players and ref's about gambling when you hold an event in the gambling capital of the world?I bet they pull their summer league out of vegas and we'll never see an all star game there again.Get ready for the rebranding of the NBA into a cuddly wholesome game.
