Don't recall who invited me here.
Just passing the time of day.
I'm an A/C contractor so things are slow for me right now.
Basically wasting time.

Imagine that! I have an AC question, is there some sort of rule of thumb when figureing the size of a supply vent into a room?

Rules of thumb can be way off.
Depends on the amount of glass, the wall/ceiling insulation values, etc.
Generally for older homes/offices you need approx. 1 cfm per sq. ft.
6" duct= 100cfm
7"=150 cfm
8"=200 cfm
.......
Hope that helps, if not give me more info on the room.
