IT investors... Care to offer your opinions?
#1

I will be making a $1,200 investment next week due to my excessive... um third party income. I would like to make it in one stock, bond, mutual fund.. whatever..

It will be marked for covering my kids books in college.. or a drug induced beng for me.. whichever comes first...

anyhow.. do you guys have any suggestions as to what I should inquire about, look into or invest the money in.

I expect it to sit for 18 years and not ever be changed over.

TIA

Add a little to it and buy 100 shares of Southwest Airlines. The stock has not done much since 9-11 but the company is posting huge profits. Even when fuel prices were kicking the shit out of the airlines, they were making profits. They just got approval to add Missouri to their list of cities outside of the Dallas market. If the Wright Amendment gets repealed, they will be able to go everywhere. They are a very solid play, especially long term.

I think that I read where Southwest is trading at about $17 a share right now. I'll check, the symbul is "LUV".

Yeah......$16.80/share.

buy google

I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk.  A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind.  A need to return to genuine practice, right effort.  Need to push on the great doubt.  Need for the spirit.  Hang on to the clear light.

Funny you mention that one, I read somewhere the other day that google was a good stock to go "short" on right now. I didn't read the whole article, so not sure what the reason was.

Of course, I read shit all of the time, about half of it works out the other half couldn't be more wrong.

Things that are prone to goverment bailouts and that rely on oil prices for stability dont seem safe to me, not to mention what happens to the stock if another 9-11 happens.

I'd look into interscope records. Biggie dropped a new album in 2005. Expect 2Pac to counter with a blockbuster this year.
