At least two Detroit Lions players remained in Steve Mariucci's corner Monday.
Cornerback Dre' Bly and quarterback Jeff Garcia both thought the blame for the team's poor record shouldn't have rested on the now ex-coach.
"If we'd had production on offense, in particular the quarterback position, Mooch wouldn't have been fired," Bly told the Detroit Free Press. "If Jeff Garcia hadn't gotten hurt, we wouldn't be in this position today. Mooch wouldn't have gotten fired."
Garcia missed the first five games after breaking his leg in the final preseason game. He started twice -- winning in Cleveland and losing to Chicago -- but then missed the Minnesota, Arizona and Dallas games with soreness in the leg.
"We're all at fault, but I just feel like Joey [Harrington]'s been here four years, and being the No. 3 pick in the draft, he hasn't given us anything," Bly told the paper. "He hasn't given us what the third pick in the draft should give us."
Garcia, who played for Mariucci in San Francisco, pointed to the Lions front office.
"You start to question whether the organization has the people in place who can go about making the proper selections," Garcia told WXYT-AM, according to the paper. "You really have to question that."
General manager Matt Millen hired both Mariucci and his predecessor, Marty Mornhinweg, and drafted or signed most of the current players. Since Millen took over in 2001, Detroit is an NFL-worst 20-55.
He fired Mariucci after two-plus seasons and a 15-28 record. The Lions promoted defensive coordinator Dick Jauron to succeed him on an interim basis.
Fucking RACK Dre' Bly and Jeff Garcia for stepping up and voicing their opinions.
Matt Millen won't have a job next year.

Reports yesterday were they asked him to fire a few assistants and he said no..
if the ford family is dumb enough to let Millen make all the decisions he shouldn't want to be there anyway. That fucker paid a $400,000 fine when he hired mooch b/c he didn't interview any balck coaches. Why would he fire someone that he was willing to pay a fine for? Why would he fire someone that they have to pay anyway? Who is out there that can replace mooch?
There is only one job worse than the detroit job right now..
New Orleans.

they should fire Millen in the off season and rehire Mooch. Seriously, he's the best guy for the job. I guarentee you every player on that team would stand behind him 100%. Its their QB and GM that are bringing that team down. Why wasn't Millen looking for a replacement or someone to fill in for Joey in his 2nd or 3rd shit year? Fuck that guy...

He won't. I bet he doesn't take another snap this year.
Fuck I hate Matt Millen. I need to dig up how long of an extension he signed. I want to say 5 years.

To blame all this on Harrington is absurd. The guy was a clutch college player, and has skills. The fact is Marriuci has never done anything without a veteran team. He is over rated. Millen's drafts have sucked huge cock. The line sucks, the D is over rated.
I hope they get rid of Harrington so he can go somewhere and have a chance.
I know what you're thinking now. You think we're all gay, don't you? Think we're all just a bunch of deviant lifestyle-living same-sex having motherfuckers, am I right?

Part of me thinks that, because of the West Coast O', but part of me thinks the guys is king of the pussies and won't take a hit. Dude checks down instantly after the snap, doesn't even wait on his recievers. I hate his guts.

actually, the defense isn't half bad. the games they win or actually score in usually happen because of the defense forcing turnovers. they have a lot of injuries right now. the offensive line shouldn't be bad, hell Kevin Jones was a stud last year for some reason. Joey, Mooch, and Matt Millen all deserve some of the blame.

The rap on Harrington now is that he has no heart. I am saying this is not something you lose. Your skills may not translate, but I don't hear anyone saying he has no skills.
To put Harringting in with the group you list is inaccurate. A bunch of one hit wonders in college who's game was doubtful going into the pros. Products of their systems. Harrington has never had that tag before, and I don't think he deserves it now.
Yeah, I saw his interceptions. The first one was bullshit. His receiver has bad hands and tips the ball up and the defense picks it. That is not Harringtons fault.
The long term will decide this kids future, and I think on another team, with a better coach, he will be successful, provided the Lions don't completely fuck his head up.

mooch was known as a developer of qb's
I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk. A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind. A need to return to genuine practice, right effort. Need to push on the great doubt. Need for the spirit. Hang on to the clear light.

I am saying he never did. Montana and Young were not really raised by him, and Garcia had tons of experience in Canada. So at the pro level as a head coach, he did not.

My post should have read "I am not saying he never did". However, even so, he did not groom Farve when Mooch was a head coach. He has never groomed a QB as a head coach, which is what my post stated.
