Terrell Owens- Jerry Rice says it best.
#1

HARSH WORDS: Jerry Rice, who is all but a certain Hall of Fame selection when he retires, made no secret where he stands in Terrell Owens' contract squabble with the Philadelphia Eagles.

"I don't feel like you're bigger than the team," Rice said after the Broncos finished practice Wednesday night with the Texans.

Owens was suspended by the Eagles for one week after being told to go home from training camp. As network helicopters swirled over Owens' New Jersey home, the Eagles released a statement saying Owens had been suspended for "undisclosed team issues."

However, several reports said Owens was suspended after having a run-in with coach Andy Reid. Owens has been unhappy with the seven-year, $48.97 million deal he signed with the Eagles in 2004.

"I really don't condone what he did . . . ," Rice said. "You can't be a distraction like that. It's just unfortunate. . . . You're talking about a team that went to the Super Bowl last year. . . . They need to be thinking about what they need to do to get back to the Super Bowl. "One thing about T.O. is T.O. is very defensive. And if he feels you've crossed him, you've stabbed him in the back, then he doesn't forget that. As a professional, though, you've got to be able to move on. . . . I think it's just out of hand, it's out of control."

Son, I am Disappoint.

Didn't T.O. say Jerry Rice would do the same in his situation?

I agree with everything rice said regarding the team coming first but I wonder if Rice at the peak of his career would tolerate not being the best paid receiver in the game.

I think he would be pissed but I dont think he would be as public with it as TO. Rice seems to have a better head on his shoulders. But, then again, he is a hell of a lot older than TO.

Fuck.

anyone else remember the temper tantrum Rice threw when he didn't get a pass thrown to him, ending his streak?....sorry, i'm still not mad at TO, they should be worried about making him happy.

I know owens is acting like an asshole, he's fucking crazy. But at the same time if it was Mcnabb holding out the Eagles would give him the money.Im an eagles fan they have a chance to win it all this year, do whatever it takes.

He's putting himself ahead of the team and ahead of the game itself.

He doesn't like being yelled at? Are you fucking kidding me? Poor baby. I hope the Eagles just deactivate him before every game, like the Bucs did with Keyshawn a few years ago. Let him sit out the entire season, and not be any closer to his contract expiring.

The way Rice is hanging on at the end of his career, taking a younger recievers spot on the team, just to get more money and extend his records he really has no room to talk about greed.

Yeah, they were really close. TO gave 'em a great shot...it's just too bad his quarterback played the entire 4th quarter with both hands wrapped around his neck.

It's the Eagles' year? You plan on walking on at wideout?

They got to the bowl without owens last year.If Owens isnt there they will get the best reciever available via cuts or trades and make due with that like when they were starting thrash and pinkston all the way to 3 straight NFC title games.

Mcnabb choked last year and he knows the whole city knows so I dont think he's letting that happen again sort of like Elways first superbowl win after the two earlier losses, he did whatever he had to.
