My auction draft starts today...
#1

Basically I get a $1000 salary cap to sign players for 1 to 5 year contracts. You bid on players via proxy for 24 hours. Everytime someone bids.. the time starts all over. Any suggestions in this list who I should target?
--The first draft is for the top 24 offensive producers.... after all of these are won.. then he will release more. You must have 31 players on your roster. These are current as of 3:05 CST....

im suprised 2 recivers are at top of the board.. thats dumb.

if i were you i would right now, i'd put in bids for priest holmes and ahman green, move um up to a bill a piece and see if anyone counters. the key to a good fantasy game is built on the rb position.. these guys seem to be coveting the top wideouts more for some reason.. thats a good sign for you.

Well alot have changed in one day... I don't see me bidding on these guys anymore. I think I would be better served having a few solid players than one of these guys and a bunch of crap after that.. SUGGESTIONS?

If I had known.. I would have got you in. The payment was $10 this year and $20 each year after that. While I have you though.. what are some young or no name guys that you would get on the cheap and sign to 5 year deals?

I'd just take a look at this past draft and see who's in the best situation going forward. Maybe that receiver in Minnesota?

I was thinking someone like Houzmahmed (sp?) could be $$$. Others I thought would be a good long term fit are Bulger, Brooks (has duece for a while now), Brady, Leftwich, Lelie, Holt, Reggie Wayne, Clayton, Andre Johnson, Evans, Burleson, Ward..

Any of that list tickle your fantsy? Any I shouldn't consider?

I wouldn't want Holt for 5 years.

I'm not sure how I would make it without your insight.

as far as the wideouts go you can probably steal coles for a low bid.. i think he will have a much better year back in ny then the last 2 with washington. andre johnson is a hstud.. i wouldnt be suprised if he ends up statistically in the top 7 wideouts, so you might spend a little extra to knabb him.. keep an eye on roy williams in det too.. homie catches everything thrown at him, he's gonna be a star if he stays healthy..

i do think you'll have a hard time if you don't grab at least one elite rb.. edge, ahman, and dillon seem to be resonable comparitivly.. and i still think bidding on priest holmes at current price would not be a bad idea either...

my main concern is spending too much cap space on one RB. If you drop $300 on a RB that is 30% of your cap. Thats a big hit espically because you have to fill out 30 spots... I want Dillion without a doubt... I'd like to sign him for 2 years... but I won't go more than $200 on any of these guys.

if you plan to be doing this for multipul years you might look into signing jj arrington long term... i think he's got a good chance to contribute this year, and i think he will be money in a couple of years, so if you can get him cheap now, i think itll pay off down the road..

you might take a chance like that on charles rogers too.. the guy is quality, it is a shame he never stays healthy. i bet he goes for next to nothing, the potential he has would make it worth it to sign him.

you might look at michael bennett as a 2nd or 3rd starting rb.. ontario is out this year and mike is coming into camp healthy (as far as i know) he is probably going to be able to be picked up at a decent price..

exactly what I am thinking... If I get Rogers for $20.. I'll lock him up for 5 years. It won't hurt having him on my roster... Hopefully I can come across a couple of gems like that... If I can sew them up for next to nothing now.. then it'll help me in the years to come.

I am currently the high bidder on Rudi Johnson... I have him for $146.00 with a proxy bid of $150...

What is the highest you would go on him.

Also, Steven Jackson is at $139.00.. what would you put on him.
Lamont Jordan is $150, Kevin Jones is $156.

Also.. shaun alexander is 2 hours away from being sold at $252.00....

out of a $100 cap.. what would you spend on jones?

I have gates right now at $91..
Chad Johnson at $177
Rudi Johnson at $156..

I doubt I keep all three but I'd love to keep gates, johnson and then grab jones.

i wouldnt go too much higher then what the bid is now.. anything more than 190$ would seem kinda high.
