I met a woman who got bit by one of those things on her thigh and was on permanent disability from it. They are nasty little buggers.

We have a spider like that over here . Its called the white tailed spider and lives in gardens . If you get bitten you usally end up with gangrene and lose a limb . Very Nasty .

Why do spiders need to be that venemous? Its not like they eat anything THAT big.

This one isn't as bad, but we found a large spider running across the floor in our TV Room. We caught it but couldn't ID it, so we sent it to a lab to have them ID it. Turns out it was a harmless house spider, only it looks identical (unless you have a magnifying glass) to another spider around here that is venemous. Problem is the one that is harmless to humans, preys on the venemous one.

So one you want around. One you don't. And they look identical. How fucked up is that?

I think the poison is for protection and if we get in the way its just unlucky . As for the looking the same well any spider that gets inside my house doesnt live if they go into my bedroom . You might feel a little the same if you saw our house spider lol it can spreadout to be as big as your hand and it jumps .

I hear what you're saying about us getting in the way. I was reading an article about scorpions that said they didn't always inject much poison in their first sting - just enough to hurt and warn you. The next sting however, they let you have it.

spiders aren't that bad. once you over come the natual urge to fear and squash them they're actuly quite nice so long as they aren't venemous.
