TWICKENHAM belonged to the Irish tonight after Eddie O'Sullivan's men beat rugby world champions England 19-13.
Ireland outplayed England for long periods of the game and fully merited a dramatic, heart-stopping victory.
England piled on the pressure in the final quarter, and their replacement hooker Mark Regan was denied a try after frantic Irish defence forced him into touch.
Ireland led 12-10 at half-time thanks to four Ronan O'Gara penalties, and full back Girvan Dempsey took a pass from Ulster wing Tyrone Howe to score the vital Irish try early in the second half.
