all depends on the style of the home. i don't like the platform built up around whirlpool tubs...too tacky and take up too much space. kinda like enclose sink vs. pedastal sinks...i like the pedastal way better.

unfortunatly not for me, but I do have an old claw foot tub in my garage loft. I pulled it out of an old home downtown here in lancaster (along with some old cast radiators). Mint condition. but I will need a faucet for it. might have to check Franks out.

the oxidized metal is sharp and or "black look" on the claws, i would say it depends on the look your going for in you bathroom..the house is old, are you trying to restore some of the vintage look while keeping the "modern plumbing options" ?...you don't want a rustic farm house look to your home to walk into a modern bathroom....it wouldn't fit...

Oh sure, you would definitely want chrome on the vintage plumbing parts. Nothing says early American like Chrome bathtub feet. :roll:


Now, to answer your question, if I was an old gay man that liked to have my anus loofahed by young choir boys, then I might opt for the antique tub. But, since I am not, I would stick with the shower and spend the $4k on hookers and tequila.

Those old tubs are a good idea to be installed near the center of the piece *it's art*.
Now if you have clear walls and a darker tube it will create a bigger space impression because the tub will be "more visible" from the behind.

again Bill it all depends on the look "they are" going for....trying to keep traditional rustic look....pedestal sink, etc.
