Just found out 2 minutes ago the department head I work for quit two days ago. I had been saying it was gonna happen sooner or later, and sure as shit it did. I work for the Environmental Engineering department. We're made up of 5 engineers, 1 of which does nothing, a Geologist who does nothing, and myself, the lone CAD tech. Lucky for me a do work for most of the departments here (Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Promotional). My shitty month might have turned into a few shitty months. This guy does my annual reviews and is really the main guy who knows what I do and how good of a job a do. Wish me luck fuckers.

I forgot to mention this but most the engineers that make up my department are idiots who rely on this guy. He leaves, most these fucks wont have a clue what they're doing which could mean the department will be eliminated.

damn straight...half of them are good at what they do, 2 or 3 shouldn't have jobs because i do it for them.

In any company there are managers/delegators and producers. They never get rid of the producers. I would be asking for a raise right now.

Not true. When I worked at the beer plant I would pick 300-400 cases more an hour than the rest of the crew. Come to find out a couple weeks later told me that since I left they were pullin 10-12 hour shifts. It ended up costing the company more in OT then it would of to just give me the raise.
