Notre Dame wouldn't have near the number of bowl appearances they have over the last 10 years if they weren't grandaddied into a special bowl clause with the BCS. They're the only team in the nation that can get a major bowl with a 9-3 record. I consider that cheating.

Teams that are good for 100 years and have the biggest following get breaks.Since there is no playoff system and money drives the whole sport what do you want ND to do?Give me an address and I'll mail a pillow to cry into.

I'm just glad to hear a ND fan admit that their team needs help and special exceptions to stay relevant.

Sorry, I did not mean to leave any marks.

I know what you're thinking now. You think we're all gay, don't you? Think we're all just a bunch of deviant lifestyle-living same-sex having motherfuckers, am I right?

Bowl games are irrelavant unless its for the championship.ND has a good number of championships.I'm sorry your team got bumped from the motor city bowl.

I can see why a Notre Dame fan would say bowl games were irrelevant.

2005 Fiesta Ohio State L 20-34
2004 Insight Oregon State L 21-38
2002 Gator North Carolina State L 6-28
2000 Fiesta Oregon State L 9-41
1998 Gator Georgia Tech L 28-35
1997 Indep. Louisiana State L 9-27
1995 Orange Florida State L 26-31
1994 Fiesta Colorado L 24-41

Reason for 8 consecutive bowl losses? They didn't belong in those games yet got there through a cheap exception that only Notre Dame has.

Good job.

well, the cheap exception is that they will sell tickets and get a TV audience. Brings in more $$$ for the bowl. So, until there is a playoff system in place, that's going to happen.

Middle of the road, really. Sure, some fans will watch just because of the name, but most want to watch the better teams play.

Last I checked, this wasn't about me. I guess you've been alive for 80+ years to be a Notre Dame fan all that time? Do you live or were you raised in Indiana?

I just did a little pre-season reading and turns out the BCS has been doing some rule changes regarding Notre Dame for the 2006 season. They made it a little more fair now by requiring Notre Dame to finish in the top 8 instead of the top 12. Also, their payout will be reduced under the new structure by about 66%.

More on keel payout and they'll have to earn their spot now. Much better. They still have an unfair advantage against a non-BCS conference team, but who gives a fuck about Conference USA or whatever.

They gave me a pig for an av. Nice.

How did you guess? It's so me to replace my "I heart Jaymac" av with a couple of gay guys.

On the bright side, its hilariously funny.

My point is that ND is the Yankees of college football , what have you said to refute that? You dont want to post your teams record in comparison because no program compares to ND.Any time you want to use facts to back up your arguement let me know.

No argument that ND has more championships than anybody. Tell me something that everybody already knows. If that makes them the Yankees of college football to you, then fine.

Unlike the Yankees, ND hasn't been to the big show at all in the last 10 years. The Yankees have been five times. In the last 118 years, Notre Dame has 13 championships. I guess that's kind of like the Yankees 26 championships in the last 103 years. I guess that 10% championship rate is kind of like the Yankees 25% championship rate.

Let's see how dominant Notre Dame was compared to the competition. #2 USC won 11 championships over the last 118 years. The Cards by comparison won 9 over the last 103 years. Same with the A's. So USC has a 9% winning percentage while the A's and Cards are sitting at 9% a piece. Compare that to the Yanks 25% rate and Notre Dames' 10% rate and you see they were no where near as dominant as the Yanks.

A better analogy would be that Notre Dame is the Dallas Cowboys or Pittsburgh Steelers of college football. But then they aren't even that dominant. (13% championship rate.)

"We", huh? What position do you play? Or do you coach the team?

And Notre Dame is still nowhere near as good as the Yankees, which was the original point of this whole deal. Stay focused, Terrence.

Hey, tardboy, don't let the simple stuff escape you. Notre Dame is nowhere near as big in college football as the Yankees are in baseball. Case closed.

Notre Dame is like the Yankees in one other area. They attract a bunch of bandwagonning fans. You never did answer whether you live or have lived in Indiana. How exactly did you become a Notre Dame fan? How many Notre Dame games have you been too? We'll be needing these questions answered since you and Notre Dame football are so tight you refer to yourselves as "we".

You simply can't grasp the yankee ND comparison can you?If I called Lance Armstrong the Michael Jordan of cycling would that mean I think Lance armstrong is as good an athlete as Jordan? No it means that Lance is as big a name in cycling as jordan is in basketball.Get it retard?

You think most ND fans are from Indiana? You are so fucking clueless on this topic its hilarious.I'm from PA and I'm one of their millions of fans across the nation, no other team can claim such a following let alone get the tv ratings to warrant a national tv contract. Ive been to 7 games and I watch them on tv every saturday.
