That's both comforting and reassuring. Thanks for that.

That's what I was thinking when i was typing, not sure why it came out "transition".

Did you know that one of the side effects of platelet transfusions is an urge to sleep under a bridge?

I think sleeping under a bridge would be surprisingly more pleasant than painfully bleeding to death. If I get the urge, I'll let you know. I'll have you set up an old shopping cart and cardboard box for my things (ie. cats and aluminum cans).

Didn't see this until now. Good luck Bam.

I've donated before. Maybe you'll get my platelets and be immortal too.

Mine are pretty good. I'm on the right side of the dirt still so I can't complain too much.

Yeah, all of my limbs are still intact. I'm a bruised mess, but I haven't had a nosebleed or anything today, so that's a plus.

so I googled that and apparently you have an 80 to 90% recovery chance. That's pretty good. Also marie curie, a pioneer in the study of radiation died of this disease.

have you had a bone marrow transplant yet?

Yeah, I know pretty much all there is to know about it at this point. No. I haven't had a bmt yet- I don't have a match. I've been back on the registry for almost 3 years now and still nothing. And I don't have any familial matches.

I do too. I figure as long as I can stay out of the hospital, the better. I haven't been under reverse quarantine since October so that's a pretty good thing. I just hate the drug regimen, you know?
