Great Dane was my first thought, because they are about the right height. But that tail would be a concern and some of them can be kind of mean.
I was going to go with a weinerheimer (sp?), but if I'm going to do a dog, I want it to be a championship caliber dog.
I think I'll go with an Alaskan Mallamute (sp?). Strong, attractive, with soft fur on the rear end.
