cLaY Wrote:Commercial interests in the United States and Mexico have also been successful in promoting the holiday, with products and services focused on Mexican food, beverages and festivities, with music playing a more visible role as well. Several cities throughout the U.S. hold parades and concerts during the week following up to May 5th, so that Cinco de Mayo has become a bigger holiday north of the border than to the south, and adopted into the holiday calendar of more and more people every year.

clay is correct
and bobo is not (how unusual)
i have lived in mexico, and cinco de mayo is celebrated, for the most part, only to extract money from american tourists
they have learned well from the great american promoters
btw, corona beer is a worldwide best seller, but in mexico it is a joke
I realise that I have a past to break with--an accumulation of inertia, wrong, foolishness, rot, junk. A great need of clarification, of mindfulness, or rather, of no mind. A need to return to genuine practice, right effort. Need to push on the great doubt. Need for the spirit. Hang on to the clear light.

There are some good ones. Negro Modelo is great. Pacifico is crisp and clean.

i believe corona is one of, if not the most, popular of imported beers, worldwide
it is certainly not number one in mexico
there are some good beers in mexico, bohemia is a world-class beer

I concur on the Bohemia. Corona is not a bad beer, it is just kinda their budweiser.

right you are, but for that, there is sol or superior, both better than corona
the imported bohemia is not as good as the beer in mexico, i don't know why
in the yucatan, there are victoria and negra leon both quality brews
the problem is they are not consistent
