Woman Dies After Being Hit With Golf Club

SAN ANTONIO -- A 38-year-old San Antonio woman died Saturday night while she was learning how to play golf.
Authorities said Melanie Walker was at a family gathering in Geronimo Village when she apparently got too close to a man who was teaching her how to swing a golf club and was hit in the neck.
Walker was airlifted to University Hospital, where she later died.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said Walker died of blunt force trauma to the neck and head.
The death is being ruled an accident and no charges will be filed.
